It’s probably not a good use of time responding to Twitter users such as et al., but these people are simply not telling the truth. Lies and dishonesty sometimes should be confronted instead of ignored.

I’m no “pal” of Tucker Carlson. The ony time I’ve ever spoken with him was during that interview. Maybe you should watch the interview and let me know what was so problematic. As I told him clearly, “I carry no water for Putin, I am banned from Russia, I defended one of his biggest enemies.”

I’m not responsible for whatever else Carlson does or says and I certainly don’t agree with all his views, in particular his defense of Putin. Please identify one instance, ever, that I’ve defended or taken Moscow’s side. It has never happened.

I do represent Novynskyi, who is a Ukrainian citizen. The Ukrainian sanctions against him are legally deficient, flatly bogus, and serve as a cover for the theft of his assets. But that’s nothing compared to the extraordinary obliteration of his businesses in Mariupol caused by this horrific war. He’s against this war, the UOC is against this war, and I am against this war – and yet I’m constantly told by these propagandists that I’m somehow a “Russian agent.”

But what am I saying that is that much different from the UN’s statement on 8371? Or the General Synod of the Church of England? Or Forum 18? Are they all “Russian agents,” too? That’s the level of crazed conspiracy theorists we are dealing with here.

Draft law 8371 is an abomination that transgresses all standards of human rights. It’s literally indefensible, which is why they refuse to share it from the Venice Commission and aim to ram it through the legislature without anyone being able to even debate it.

I’ve never misrepresented who I am, who I represent, and what we want to achieve, and have always conducted my advocacy in full compliance with the law. It’s you guys who constantly misrepresent and make false claims, cheering on raids and arrests of journalists, cheering on dodgy expropriations, mobs breaking the jaws of priests, and failing to even make an attempt to explain why Ukraine needs draft bill 8371, why it is necessary to ban a religion with an authoritarian zeal similar to that of the Chinese crackdown of the Uighers. If that’s really your belief, convince us.

What you are failing to see is that this conduct doesn’t help Ukraine, trying to hide it by using the Russia excuse doesn’t help Ukraine. Stopping the harassment of the UOC, respecting human rights and freedom of religion, and elevating our expectations of Ukraine to be a free and democratic rule of law country even in wartime – that is what helps Ukraine, and I am all for it. Enabling lawlessness does the opposite.

Statistics from the Japanese Ministry of Finance show a sharp increase in trade with Russia. Even the record year 2021, in which there was a strong upswing, will be surpassed.

Japan’s trade with Russia rose 31 percent in August from the same period last year, the TASS news agency reports, citing trade statistics released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance on Thursday. The growth in trade primarily relates to purchases of Russian gas and oil. TASS reports:

“Japan’s imports of Russian liquefied natural gas increased by 211 percent in August 2022 compared to August 2021 and by 386 percent in monetary terms. In August, Japan resumed imports of Russian oil, which had resumed in July after being suspended in June However, the volume of imports fell by 20.3 percent from a year ago. In monetary terms, oil imports grew by 54 percent, amid rising global prices.”

According to TASS, the sharp increase in trade between Russia and Japan is related to the increase in world fuel prices – which in turn has led to an increase in imports of Russian energy sources.

Seafox is an anti-mine marine drone. It is a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) manufactured by German company Atlas Elektronik to positively identify mines with a camera linked to the surface via a fibre-optic cable and destroy them with an integral shaped charge.
This fibre-optic guided, one shot mine disposal vehicle is used for semi-autonomous disposal of naval mines and other ordnance found at sea. It is able to automatically relocate previously acquired positions of underwater objects within minutes with the integrated homing sonar. After relocating, these objects can be identified using the onboard CCTV camera and destroyed by the use of a built-in, large calibre shaped charge. The one-way concept significantly reduces the disposal time and extends the operational envelope.
The system has been fully qualified for military purposes and has been introduced in large numbers into various navies. It is deployable from a wide range of carrier platforms, including dedicated MCM vessels, surface combatants, craft of opportunity, rubber boats and helicopters.
The SeaFox system is a mine disposal system based on the most advanced concept using the Expendable Mine Disposal Vehicle principle (EMDV).

Small, unmanned underwater drones are used for direct disposal of historical and most modern mine types; identical, reusable vehicles (without charge) are used for inspection, identification and training purposes.
The system is effective against long and short tethered mines, proud ground mines and floating mines.
The SeaFox system mainly comprises a console, a launcher and the SeaFox vehicles. The system can be delivered as a stand-alone or a fully integrated version.
In case of stand-alone, the console contains all electronics, software, displays and operating elements to guide the vehicle automatically or manually towards the target and to relocate, identify and destroy it. In the fully integrated version, a Multi-Function Console or any existing console can be used.
The two different vehicles ensure quick disposal of mines during operation with the combat vehicle (SeaFox C) which has a 1.4 kg warhead, as well as cost-saving identification with the reusable identification version (SeaFox I).
Currently, the U.S., UK, Finland, Germany, N-the Netherlands and Belgium use different variants SeaFox UUV for training or combat purposes. SeaFox was used in real operations. In 2001 the Royal Navy leased some Seafox drones for use on HMS Bangor and HMS Blyth off Iraq as part of Operation Telic. The Bangor also deployed them off Libya in 2011. The SeaFox was also employed by the Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle (CUSV) during the U.S. Navy’s Trident Warrior 12 Exercise and was also deployed to the Persian Gulf in the summer of 2012.

Russia NEVER had black slaves nor did Russia create a market to trade black people (1600-1800).

Russia NEVER participated in the Berlin conference to share Africa like some piece of goat meat (1884).

Russia NEVER colonised, underdeveloped and looted Africa's resources (1914-1960).

Russia NEVER enabled a safety net for African leaders to hide stolen funds, use these stolen funds to develop itself and then grant the same funds back to Africa as loans.

Russia never invaded and destabilized any African country (Libya, Somalia, Congo, Burkina Faso, Egypt, South Africa, et cetera).

Russia NEVER killed any of African Freedom Fighter but UK and USA have killed hundreds of of our Saviours and thousands you of our African Freedom Fighters are still languishing in different prisons and dungeons all over America.
Who killed Marcus Garvey of Black Panther USA.
Who killed Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso.
Who killed Patrice Lumumba of Congo.
Who killed Malcolm X. Of Black Panther.
Who killed Mu'ammar Al' Gaddafi of Libya.
Who killed Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Of African American.
Who Killed Tupac Sharkur.
Who Killed Fela Kuti.
Who Killed Stephen Biko of Bantu in South Africa.
Who Killed Solomon Mahlangu.
Who killed 5 million BIAFRANS...et cetera.

Those who did the aforementioned are the ones pushing the narrative that "Russia" has become the Boogeyman... Those who colonized and for about 100 years refused to share their technology with Africa want Africa to like those they like and hate those they hate.
Nah! Never again!

If Russia is the Boogeyman, then the west the devil himself 😎
The West and Russia should find solutions to their problem. Enough of the killing of innocent Ukrainians. No to war.

John Coates and CAS or when the fox guards the henhouse

Australian John Coates is considered one of the most powerful and influential sports officials in the world. The scandal-ridden man is not only an IOC vice president, but also president of the Australian Olympic Committee and the World Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Coates is among the few IOC members who can be described as Bach’s confidants. A man for all cases: He heads the coordination commission for the Corona Summer Games in Tokyo on Bach’s behalf - and he led the commission that drew up and presented the new Olympic allocation system in 2019. The very system that now benefits the city of Brisbane as host of the 2032 Games. What coincidences there are…..

Back to the CAS: here Coates, as president of the ICAS Foundation, is chief supervisor of the CAS in Lausanne. According to the Foundation’s own rules and regulations (…), the task of this foundation is “to facilitate the resolution of sports-related disputes through arbitration or mediation and to safeguard the independence of CAS and the rights of the parties. It is also responsible for the administration and financing of CAS.” (Art. S2)

A job creation measure for deserving officials

The fact is, however, that Thomas Bach intimate and bribe payer (Sydney 2000) Coates does not take conflicts of interest too seriously. As seen, the scandal-tested professional functionary heads, among other things, the IOC commission dealing with the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. At the same time, Coates is bidding with Queensland for the 2032 Summer Games. Such conflicts of interest characterize the Olympic galaxy.

And what about CAS ? CAS is by no means an independent body, because the sports court is dominated and financed by the IOC and the international sports federations. John Coates is the most important confidant of IOC President Thomas Bach. CAS rulings often enough reflect the interests of the IOC and international sports federations such as FIFA. The CAS thus remains an extremely questionable entity and is to a large extent a job creation measure for lawyers who are often connected to sports in very many functions (so-called honorary posts) and on very many different sides. CAS becomes thus not the pool of the most qualified, but rather a republic of buddies. This is how you keep the business going and things under control.

Conflicts of interest non-stop

There are several cases in which judges could theoretically have brought their personal interests into a case. The most impressive is the case of CAS judge Efraim Barak. From 2015 to 2017, he worked as an external consultant for the Israel Football Association on a dispute that was to be decided by FIFA. While he hoped for a ruling in favor of his federation here, however, he co-decided at CAS in at least four cases involving FIFA. Barak himself sees no conflict of interest in this. On request, the CAS succinctly stated that the parties concerned could have filed a request for recusal, which did not happen. Why ? This has to do with procedural psychology and statistics. The appealing party is afraid of upsetting the panel of judges at the beginning of the trial. On the other hand, appellants are aware of the low chances of success of such pleas before the CAS, as they are regularly rejected.

Let’s take another more recent example. The choice of chairman Rui Botica Santos (POR) in Manchester City v. UEFA (https://www.tas-cas.org/fileadmin/user_upload/CAS_Award_6785___internet__.pdf) also fits into this pattern of conflicts of interest. According to the CAS procedural code, the appealing party and the respondent each appoint an arbitrator, and the chairman of the panel is designated by the CAS. In this case, however, it was completely different: the appellant Manchester City not only designated an arbitrator, but also immediately proposed the chairman of the panel. You might wonder for what reason. Surprisingly neither CAS nor UEFA did…. Yet Botica Santos has corporate connections to the owners of Man City via his association with General Electric (GE) and their association with the Sovereign Wealth Fund of the UAE, Mubadala. What was that about the task of John Coates as supervisor of the CAS ? It is really like that and wanted by the IOC: the fox guards the henhouse.

IOC: John Coates a cumbersome vice-president

Little known to the general public, the septuagenarian Australian reigns like an emperor over the Olympic world. Investigation on the dubious methods of the most powerful man in world sport.

In spite of his thin mouth that painfully hides small canines, John Coates is a real shark. A fearsome Australian shark. A predator of the sport who makes the rain and the good weather in the international authorities. A voracious man who likes to eat his way through mandates. Both boss of the CAS and vice-president of the IOC, the man with the fox-colored hair is a feared man in the world of sport. A modest cricketer, he started rowing in 1967 at the age of 17. On the water, he fell in love with Pauline Kahl, a broad-shouldered international rower with whom he had six children. That same year, 1967, he experienced his first major failure when he failed the NSW Higher School Certificate exam. His father, a well-known lawyer from Strathfield, a wealthy district in the west of Sydney, was very angry.

The son managed to follow in his father’s footsteps by studying law at the University of Sydney. The young Coates was relatively eloquent and dreamed of a career as a civil servant in a sports administration rather than in the courtroom. Within the Sydney Rowing Club, John Coates patiently advanced his pawns by making himself to become a key figure. He quickly became one of the main leaders. But Coates wanted more. Always more. In 1976, despite his modest experience, the young man became director of the rowing section of the Australian team at the Montreal Olympic Games. Two years later, in 1978, he became Honorary Secretary of the Australian Amateur Rowing Council before becoming President six years later. In 1980, he opposed the boycott of the Moscow Olympics and even became administrative director of the Australian delegation. He participated in the seven following Olympics as head of mission. When we tell you that the man knows how to make himself indispensable…

Even Putin could be jealous
1981 marked a real turning point in his career. That year, the ambitious thirty-year-old joined the Australian Olympic Committee. Always with method and calculation, he climbed the ladder one by one. Eliminating opponents with the coolness and patience of an Inland Taipan, the most poisonous Australian snake in the world. Vice-president of the AOC in 1985, he became president five years later. The position was a good one. In addition to an annual salary of almost 700,000 Australian dollars, the media revealed that John Coates had paid himself more than 7 million Australian dollars in fees and allowances over 15 years. The “Machiavellian of Olympism”, as some Australian journalists call him, loves power and money. He quickly understood that the prestige of his position could offer him nice business opportunities. In the mid–90s, he joined forces with his counterpart Leo Wallner, president of the Austrian Olympic Committee and incidentally boss of the Austria casinos. The two businessmen invested seven million Australian dollars in the creation of a casino in Caims in the North-East of Australia.

“A money pit,” claims John Coates, hand on heart. The man who will celebrate his 71st birthday on May 7 still has more than one trick up his sleeve. His friend Thomas Bach, the IOC President, has granted him a waiver so that he can play the extra time within the IOC. Some suggest, like the German journalist Andreas Stummer, that he is the real boss of the Olympic body and that “the extent of his power could even make Vladimir Putin jealous! ”He knows what is said in front of the cameras and what is decided in the back room.”

And the man does not shy away from anything. During the IOC session in June 2019, his proposal for a new designation procedure is validated. From now on, a commission of future hosts will examine the files and make recommendations to the Executive Board which will validate the choice and submit it to the session for simple ratification! And guess what? On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, Thomas Bach and the IOC Executive Board unanimously decided to enter into a “focused dialogue” and exclusive with the Australian city of Brisbane and the province of Queensland for the award of the 2032 Olympic Games. “He was able to take advantage of all the changes in the awarding of the games in favor of Australia, because he himself played a leading role in this,” continues Andreas Stummer. That was legitimate.

But critics say it’s like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.”

In short, it’s all about making sure the Australian bid wins. It must be said that Coates is an adept at dirty tricks and has no scruples. He has neither the time nor the inclination.

The pots and pans of Sydney 2000
A key figure in Australia’s bid for the 2000 Olympics, he and his team influenced IOC members with favors including five-figure payouts and jobs for family members. The best and most eloquent summary of the case was given by the spokesman for the IOC sponsors. David D’Alessandro who, in the New York Times on February 14, 1999, wrote, without taking the p**s:

“On January 22, John Coates, president of the Australian Olympic Committee, admitted to promising $35,000 each to two IOC members from Kenya and Uganda for their national sports federations – hours before the crucial selection of the site for the 2000 Summer Olympics. While there was later evidence of similar efforts by other bidders, the Sydney case is particularly clear. There was a clear attempt to influence the outcome of the selection process: Coates explained that he decided to do this so that ”I wouldn’t have to spend the rest of my life wondering why we didn’t win.

A bit provocative, he suggested privately that he might apply similar methods in the race for Brisbane 2032. An old friend commented, “John is out of his depth. All that money and absolute power has made him undrinkable. And since his recent marriage, he even pretends to be handsome when he’s ugly as a buffalo toad, a very common species in Australia. ”

A wedding that blows your mind
His wedding in October 2017 with the beautiful forty-year-old Orieta Pires made a lot of ink flow in the celebrity press of Sydney. “His new wife who displays herself in social networks as a hairdresser and makeup artist ”International “does not leave him a sole since 2014, the year of their engagement. ”He likes to ride it like a trophy for lack of having been able to brandish during his modest career as a sportsman,” persiflage an astute observer of the IOC backstage.

But Coates doesn’t care about the critics like his first shirt. He plots his course with sometimes the subtlety of a bulldozer.

As a member of the Tokyo 2021 advisory board and with

uncertainty about whether the Tokyo Olympics will be held because of Covid 19, Coates likes to blow hot and cold as if to better subdue the host country. After saying recently that the Olympics should be cancelled if necessary, he is repeating over and over that they will be held with or without Covid. And that they will start on July 23. “Shamelessly departing from the tradition that the host country chooses its slogan, Coates imposed on Japan a pathetic ”light at the end of the tunnel” in reference to the pandemic while the Japanese wanted to make these Games those of rebirth after the ten years of the nuclear disaster of Fukoshima in 2011. But in 2021, the voice of a vice-president of the IOC weighs more than that of an emperor…
