Among Robert Butler's 99 directing credits, is the Fun City classic NIGHT OF THE JUGGLER, which Butler finished after Sidney Furie was let go. He passed away on November 3 just shy of his 96th birthday.

BASKIN is an excellent 4K restoration of a film that Paramount has hardly let out of the vault in half a century. Chicago looks great in the film’s clean images — even the occasional snow-sludged streets. Ms. Bergen is criminally photogenic, with makeup that aims for a no-makeup impression."

CineSavant celebrates People in Weird Situations week! Candice Bergen finds herself pillow to pillow with Peter Boyle in T.R. BASKIN. She's a new girl in the city running into a wall of loneliness, alienation, and just plain awful people, including her risky pick-up partner James Caan. Fun City's disc comes with a talk by writer-producer Peter Hyams. Then, ClassicFlix resurrects the orphaned Sci-fi TV show WORLD OF GIANTS, starring Arthur Franz and Marshall Thompson as America's miniaturized super-spy. The 'shrinking man' special effects are used well by directors Jack Arnold, Byron Haskin, Nathan Juran and Eugène Lourié. All 13 episodes of the original series are present. At the CineSavant Column, a rare monster sighting and some worthy Bat-News from 1966.

Loved this guy. We have Burt Young's second credited appearance in the FCE collection: "First Hood" in BORN TO WIN. Fun City-born was Burt, though he might be best remembered for playing a Philadelphia citizen: Rocky's irascible but lovable brother-in-law, Paulie. Rest in peace.
