President Biden made his 2024 State of The Union Address last night. He did great up there despite accusations of dementia... Saying it’s time to hang it up and such. I have seen videos thinking there is some validity to it but last night I didn’t see anything that stuck out except a stutter here and there which is not typically indicative of mental health disorders that they are labeling him with as it’s normal for everyone…or is it? 🤔
HEALTHCARE workers….do you think he has early onset dementia? Signs of Alzheimer’s? Something else? Or none of the above?

Many of us have forgotten about this part of nursing… the scary part is that it goes a lot deeper than you think…
We have lost ourselves amidst the chaos of the world of nursing.… this is detrimental for our patients, because in the end they are the ones who are truly affected. Standing up for ourselves today has a lot to do with that. Let me explain:
If there are 3 million nurses out here today, doesn’t that mean that there will be 3 million patients 40/50 years from now? Eventually all 3 million of us nurses end up becoming the patient don’t we? Shouldn’t we stand up for ourselves right now so that way we are well taken care of with a decent well functioning healthcare system when OUR time comes?
Here is where I am getting with that: If we don’t advocate for ourselves today, we will be the patients that are suffering in 40/50 years from neglect the same way current patients are today and we will REALLY wish that we did so 40 years ago when we had the power to from the beginning…
The well-being of your patients right now depends on your bravery to stand up for yourself. Your future independent of your nursing practice depends on it as well!

In 2023 I learned something very important (in the video I sw! A harsh truth. One of many actually. I came close to loosing my license several times now that I think about it. Don’t do what I did PLEASE! Please take the following advice VERY seriously:I have had this discussion many times. There are several view point of this. While your heart is in the right place, please understand that the the Board of Nursing is NOT your friend. They will protect your patients safety over your exploitation. So when it comes down to it, if ever, there is a court hearing and there’s an opportunity for the hospital to pin fault on you, the nurse, or if the board of nursing gets word of you being in a court hearing and a patient dying under your care due to unintentional neglect, or due to the fact that you were not protective enough of the patient that you did not refuse an impatient assignment, they gonna get you sis! They will most definitely strip your license and never look back and without any remorse. If you look at it from another angle, it kinda sucks that they aren’t supporting AGAINST the poor manipulative behavior of the hospital either…. They need to be playing a MUCH bigger role in advocating for nurses so that nurses aren’t being put in these positions in the first place! Because they should know what happens when nurses decline assignments and how hospitals find loopholes to pin consequences on the nurse. Then there is this factor… if we ALLLLL refuse unsafe assignments TOGETHER, and really STICK TOGETHER, on this then the hospital CANT eliminate an entire hospital (nurses fear getting fired or retaliation in some form) and nurses would be able to win aka patients win!Nurses fear retaliation and it DOES happen. This is the part where the board of nursing needs to step in if they truly care about the profession and this is where I call out the board of nursing to STEP IT UP and BACK US UP#nurse #itsnursenina #nursenina #medsurg #icunurse #ernurse #postpart
