Mamelodi Sundowns unpack why Downs signed many players, as "The Brazilians" Played 60 match this year alone.
"Everyone talks that Sundowns have too many players and this is the reason why you have too many players," Mokwena
"Apart from playing seven games in about 19 days, you're also talking about the team that has played the most matches in a calendar year.
"We've played 60 matches, that's two league seasons in one year which is incredible.
"If you look at the amount of minutes played by certain players, Mshishi [Themba Zwane] has played 1 844 minutes, AJ [Andile Jali] has played 2042 minutes.
"Peter Shalulile has played 2 272 minutes, that's the most that a player has averaged in a season which is already two seasons in half a season.
"Thapelo Morena 1 175, Lyle Lakay 1 995, Denis Onyango 1 656 minutes and then you still have these incredible records on the side.
"With the goalkeepers keeping the most clean sheets, with Peter also scoring the most goals in a calendar year.
"So it's been a very challenging year which they've carried out with aplomb, conviction and integrity and protecting the club."
