Deceased Body found in the woods near Villeneuve Drive in Knox, NY (Albany County) on 7/21/2024. The identity of the deceased has yet to be released. Investigation is ongoing.

Human remains found in the Albany County town of Knox by a Schoharie County resident have been tentatively identified, New York State Police said Monday.

41 years ago today on July 8, 1983, the body of Robert “Bobby” Gutkaiss’s was found in a wooded area near East Road in Stephentown, NY. His death has been ruled a homicide. On June 30, 1983, Troopers were contacted by Robert’s mother asking for assistance in locating her 15-year-old son who was last seen earlier that day walking on State Route 43 near the intersection of Garfield Road in Stephentown, NY. The Troop G Major Crimes Unit and SP Schodack have made a concentrated effort to solve this crime and continue to ask for the public’s assistance. If you don’t know the story of the original Berkshire Serial Killer, Lewis Lent, you should get to know it. He was a child serial killer in the 1990’s. He’s kidnapped, r***d and killed children, both in New York and Massachusetts.
Two of his victims have never been found. Sara Anne Wood and Jamie Lusher.
For years Lent has toyed with Law Enforcement as to the whereabouts of the children’s remains. Hopefully, the search in Lanesborough will be fruitful and these families will get the much deserved closure they’ve been waiting for.

"I am the Rolling Stone reporter investigating the tragic disappearance of teenagers Mitchel Weiser and Bonnie Bickwit on July 27 1973 as they planned to attend the Summer Jam rock concert in Watkins Glen, NY. Of the 600,000 fans who attended this event featuring The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and The Band, only Mitchel and Bonnie never came back.

My latest research shows that Robert Garrow may have been involved. According to one report, the teens were last seen in an orange VW in central NY on July 27 or 28. It appears to me that Garrow had the means to be involved within this time frame and it seems to fit his MO. I would appreciate any help you all can provide to determine if it is possible Mitch and Bonnie were among the unknown victims of Garrrow. There are other theories out there. ‼️🚨THE MYSTERIOUS UPSTATE NY COLD-CASE OF MISSING GEORGE MATTEO‼️

On June 11, 1989, the State Police located an abandoned vehicle in the area of Cranes Hollow Road and the Mohawk River in Amsterdam, NY. The investigation discovered the vehicle belonged to 53-year-old George Mateo of Amsterdam, NY. Mateo had been witnessed fishing in the area, but Troopers could not locate him. A continued search of the area and the Mohawk River still failed to locate George, and his family has not had contact with him since.
