Did you know that Compart Family Farm Digital Media Team members get some pretty cool opportunities?

My name is Sydney and I’m one of the Captains of this team. Since I joined the team in 2019, I’ve gotten the opportunity to sell sponsorship in order to support this team.

My responsibilities include contacting companies and organizations, negotiating a sponsorship, creating and using tools to help sell the sponsorship, and even writing and executing the final contract.

These kits are equipped with a multi-use tripod, iPad filmmaking case, wide angle lens, MicMini, and backpack. The team has taken advantage of these kits by using the equipment to film events like the Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo and interviews of champion livestock showmen. One of the first projects the Digital Media Team got the chance to do was create a Digital Portfolio. Digital Portfolios are a great way to showcase your work and really show how much your work is improving. For many of us this was our first web design project. The reason for creating this first is to keep track of our creations throughout the year. We will all keep adding to our portfolios as we continue to do more digital media projects. The team is having an amazing time at Freestyle Productions, Inc. today! We are learning technology skills that we can use at the Minnesota State Fair, Minnesota FFA Foundation Telethon, MLBA 4-H Purple Ribbon Auction, and more!

Our team is off to a busy start here in July! Over the next two weeks we will be working with the Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo on their digital media projects. Our team members have had the opportunity to create graphics for the 2020 MYLE Champions, and are in the process of finalizing graphics for the 2021 MYLE Champions as well! This weekend, some of our team will be in Fairmont, MN to learn about backdrop photography, graphic design, and broadcasting/interviewing. Then we're off to Jackson, MN for the MYLE swine show the following weekend.

Stay tuned for a recap of all the great opportunities we were offered at these shows!

Welcome to the Compart Family Farms Digital Media Team page! The goal of this team is to offer real-life digital media opportunities for 4-H members and FFA members so students have quality content to use in their portfolio when applying for colleges and/or developing their career pathway.

Our team is comprised of 12 Minnesota 4-H and FFA members with an interest in pursing ag communications and marketing. These 12 members get the opportunity to learn from mentors in social media, photography, graphic design, videography, broadcasting, and web design. We can't wait to share what we have in store this summer with you!
