Metro card from Mexico City which is from Louise in Guatemala, with the memory of travel and friends, was exchanged to a small Starwars doll which is from Ace, American youtuber, he got it from ex-girlfriend in Colombia when he had a youtube video series in Colombia. ⠀

Took a bus to Cancun. Firstly, I stayed at Downtown area. I knew that, the tourist site is so fun when you dive into a rich local life. So easy and good tacos....⠀

冷房の効きすぎたバスに乗ってカンクンのダウンタウンエリアまで来ました。海岸沿いのホテルエリアで働く人たちが遊ぶ内陸、もう安くて美味しすぎるタコスに溢れていました...観光地の裏側は、いつでも楽しい :) @ Downtown Cancun

After morning bathing in Cenote, I had a hike around a Tulum archeological site. Somehow I find a primitive aesthetic and intimacy.⠀

I cycled to a cenote, which is a water pond in a cave. Water is crystal clear, of course, I jumped into the water. I looked up, and realized I was wrapped by a light curtain by sunlight in the water. ⠀

Pass the border by bus. We pass quite easily but the bus passed so slow. Taxi driver tried to hook us, but all passengers were chilled and waited.⠀

To go to Belize by the early morning bus, I stayed Froles, the town on a small island in Froles lake. Suddenly all the electricity was down and got so quiet in the calm lake water.⠀

次の国ベリーズに行くためにティカルから少しだけ離れたフローレス湖に浮かぶフローレス島に滞在した。と、夕方に突然島全体が停電して、風のない湖の薄暗い水面の上で世界が止まったようだった。 @ Flores, Guatemala

I couldn't see it in the dark when I come in the forest, but it was so large area. To protect the nature and remained culture, the forest around is also important factor for it. Not for commercial, simply to remain their precious thing.⠀

来るときには真っ暗で見えなかったけど、ティカルは相当な大きい森に囲まれていた。車で45分走ってもまだ森の中。ホテルなどに必要以上に土地を明け渡すことなく、遺跡やその周りの自然・動物を守るために誰にも土地を明け渡さないグアテマラの姿勢に感動した。

Sun rose, birds started to wake up, monkeys howled loudly and the pyramids were revealed on the rainforest horizon. Most impressed dawn in my life.
夜が明ける前にピラミッドの一つに登って、朝日が登るのを待つ。鳥の声が少しずつ大きくなって、ホエザルの雄叫びがこだまするころ太陽が昇り、果てしない熱帯雨林の水平線にピラミッドが姿を表す。空から地球の目覚めを眺めるような、まるで神さまの視点から世界をみるようだった。
いわゆる絶景の旅、という訳ではなく、知らないことを知るためのただ漂うだけの旅だった。でも、こんな景色と時間があることは大げさでなく多分一生忘れないと思う。 @ Tikal National Park

I take a domestic flight to Tikal, north part of Guatemala. A car picked me up at night and drove for 1 hour in the middle of the dark forest. Arrived at a hotel and now be ready for the sunrise tomorrow...
国内線で北のほうにあるムンドマヤ空港まで飛ぶ。1時間ほど真っ暗な何もない森の中を車で走って、ティカル遺跡のそばにあるという唯一のホテルまでたどり着く。明日に朝日とピラミッドを見るため、今日は早めに寝ます... @ Aeropuerto Internacional Mundo Maya

夜が明ける前にピラミッドの一つに登って、朝日が登るのを待つ。鳥の声が少しずつ大きくなって、ホエザルの雄叫びがこだまするころ太陽が昇り、果てしない熱帯雨林の水平線にピラミッドが姿を表す。地球の朝の目覚めを空からそっと見守るような、まるで神さまになったような時間。
この旅は普通のバックパッカーが目指すような、いわゆる絶景の旅、という訳ではなく、知らないことを知るためのただ漂うだけの旅だった。でも、こんな景色と時間があることは大げさでなく多分一生忘れないと思う。⠀

They are proud of their embroidering pattern. In one town Santa Catalina Palopo, they decided to paint indigo color and pattern both from their traditional clothing. In the end, they realized their own identity. Wall graffiti disappeared and the street became more secured and safe. Plus, tourist-friendly :)⠀

面白いまちづくりの事例がサンタカタリナパロポ、という街にあった。壁に、伝統衣装に使われる村に昔から伝わる刺繍の柄と藍色をペイントする。色やパターンはカタログ化されていて、パターンの意味などを教えた上、建物の持ち主が決める。結果、あれていた壁は綺麗になって落書きも消え、街の治安が良くなった上、街にアイデンテティが生まれた。もちろん、旅行者にも楽しいしいいことづくめ！ @ Santa Catarina Palopó

I joined a coffee tour to visit big coffee farm which export beans to all over the world. As coffee addicted, I have to know where it's from and how it's treated.⠀

Cottonseed from Wendy, which her friend gave it to harvest cotton in the desert, but, unfortunately, the desert is too dry for cotton, was exchanged to a metrocard for Mexico city, which Louis got it from Friend, and used for his last trip, which was super fun and memorable and card was quite impressed and useful.⠀

My friend Luis brought me to a university he studied and now teaching. He is also an architect and most of Guatemalan architects graduate here. They studied under great post-modern brutalism architecture.⠀

To see a sunrise from Machupicchu, I left my bed to the dark. I thought this was touristic, but no one walk on the road without any light source. I couldn't help following an old worker pushing a wheelbarrow, to keep distance to avoid any conflict. He noticed me and guided me to the right path to the mountain. ⠀

朝日を見るために出発したはいいものの、誰も通らない、街灯もない、真っ暗な道をひたすら歩くことになった。
道は正しいはずだけど本当に何も見えなかったので、唯一見えた、そこで働いているだろう知らないおじさんの後ろをついていく。
何か間違いのないようにしばらく距離を開けていたけど、少し明るくなったところでおじさんと片言のスペイン語で話し始める。道を教えてもらい、最後には握手して別れた。とてもいいおじさんだった。歩いてマチュピチュの建つ山頂へ向かう.... @ Machu Picchu

After hot bath, walk around a town. This town accomodate not only tourists but local workers.
I enjoyed super cheep, shady local canteen, and street stalls.⠀

温泉の後は、温泉街の気持ちで街をぶらぶらしていた。観光業に従事する人もめっちゃいるので、その人たちのための市場、屋台、学校も観光客のあふれる広場のすぐ裏で違う色の賑わいをつくっている。串焼きは牛の心臓を開いたもので、地元の少年サッカーをぼーっと眺めながらお行儀悪くかぶり付いた。
その場所の本当に美味しいものは、見た目もよくないし、表にもでてこない。⠀

I flied to Cusco, where the travlers stops before going to Machupichu. Suprised how it is a developed city after driving through Andes mountains. Yes, the hotel recommended it to me and I ate alpaca.⠀

0529_ How to live on the lake⠀
He took me to a tour and introduce how people live remotely on the lake to us "modernized ones".⠀
They live on the primitive. Hunting and exchange. They stay most of the time outside. They have to renew their island every 80 years, otherwise, it sinks.⠀

宿のオーナーさんが他の島へ連れて行ってくれて、どうやって人は湖の上にクラスのか、湖の外の人間である私たちに教えてくれた。泥と葦の層の上に葦でできた家を立てる。島は１５日に一回メンテして、80年ほどで沈んでしまうので新しく作る。水鳥の狩猟や釣った魚の物々交換で穀物を得て暮らす。ソーラーパネルやDVDプレーヤー、携帯の充電器がある以外は、藁の家には簡単な布団しかなく、本当に簡素な暮らしである。それを目の当たりにして、正直言って、驚いてしまった。私の当たり前は、私の住む場所以外では当たり前ではない。そんな当然のことを、ようやく頭で理解した。 @ Uros Floating Islands
