Been working from home for the past 3 weeks so it's my first time stepping foot in the office in a long while. Dropped Baby Madz in school first then went to work.
Nothing beats the familiar hot coffee paired with warm quezo royale muffin to start a busy day.
Perfect for office chismisan with colleagues.

💌 Story time about Jigz' (my husband) surgery 2 weeks ago.
*long post ahead*
2 weeks ago, Jigz had severe stomach pain so his doctor instructed us to rush to the ER for an emergency surgery. It was supposed to be a 2-hour laparoscopic cholecystectomy (inflamed gallbladder removal) but doctors found that his appendix was already infected too. It would have ruptured if infection wasn't uncovered early. Doctors also had to carve his gallbladder around his liver to prevent further damage. Due to the complexity of the situation, as they assayed, an open surgery was the best route to safely remove these. Furthermore, his gallstones already passed and went to the bile duct (the tube that carries bile from liver and gallbladder to stomach) causing a blockage. Due to obstruction, they're unable to extract the stones. Further probes may risk damaging his surrounding organs. He's been in surgery for 10 hours straight and his blood pressure kept fluctuating, which was concerning. When they closed him up they brought him straight to ICU. I was worried how overwhelmed he would be when he wakes up in there. He had no inkling of what he's been through that day.
His surgeon told me that another procedure needed to be done ASAP - ERCP, a non invasive endoscopic procedure to locate and remove the gallstones. PDMC had no facility for it so he needed to be brought to another hospital. The next day, we went to Cardinal Santos Hospital through an ambulance filled with gadgets keeping his vitals monitored. Thankfully, the doctors were able to eliminate the gallstones swiftly and clear him of any further infection. We went back to PDMC relieved. That night though, he had fever, his doctors were worried. Tests confirmed that he acquired hospital pneumonia and his potassium level is low due to his weak immune system. His cardiologist monitored him closely and had him stay for another 3 days to heal.
Around the same time, Billing flagged me that his HMO was already maxed out and required me to make partial payment upfront. They won't bill anything more to our room thereafter so all his meds and needs had to be bought by me outside the hospital.
Sleepless and exhausted, I took a moment to breathe and reflect. Amidst this trying time, I chose to stay calm and optimistic, unfazed by the turn of events. I needed to toughen up. Instead of worrying, I chose to count our blessings - from doctors' timely operation, having considerate bosses, in-laws taking care of Markus so we can stay in the hospital, my parents providing comfort and assurance, friends looking after my mental wellbeing while Jigz was recovering, Jigz' best buddy (from the other side of the world) being there for him despite the distance, - to being able to procure the funds to pay for the excess hospital dues. Looking back, I realized, everything that we've gone through happened for a reason - in the most appropriate time, surrounded with the right people. Every turn of events made sense as if it was written beautifully in a story with a great ending. I knew who the author was, who else could it be? This was definitely the work of God.
P.S. Jigz is recovering fine.

They say that coffee shops are but for multitaskers like me (full time hands on parent and a full time employee) it's a haven. A safe and comfortable place where I can sip my favorite coffee, catch up with my emails and complete my deliverables in peace while I wait for my son's school dismissal. Think about it, it's not that expensive, after all.

Had a bit of 🚑 family emergency 🚑 so we weren't able to push through with our 8th birthday plan 🌊🌊🌊 for Baby Madz .
👩👦Had to think of an alternative to cheer up the little boy so we decided that I bring him to Ayala Malls Feliz Timezone Philippines for a short "arcade party". For a of P500 (with 200 bonus load), Baby Madz had the best time playing all the 🎰 arcade games and raking 🕹 high scores.
What a fun day! He was so ecstatic that he kept on telling his Dad (who's in the hospital) that it's his 🎉best birthday 🎉 ever! His and are full! Best choice I've ever made that day and my favorite memory with him, by far!

How to go to Dingalan, Aurora?
Located at the southernmost part of the province of Aurora, the Municipality of Dingalan is a typical tropical community richly endowed with lush forest growth and crystal clear seas and rivers. Dingalan is situated at the foot of Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges, thus, the terrain going there is generally mountainous and rugged. The road distance between Manila and Dingalan is 173.8 km.
Via van (Private Vehicle)
⏳ Travel time is usually about 2 hours and 35 minutes (ideal traffic situation).
🗺 Manila- Cabanatuan- Gabaldon, Dingalan Aurora route
⛽ Fuel cost was around – P5,500, round trip.
🚧 Toll fee is about P400 – P500 in total, one way.
Travel Restrictions: 😷 None
Where to stay?
🏡 Stayed at Marquez Transient House, which is located in Malamig Umiray, Dingalan.
💆♀️ Hosts were very responsive and accommodating despite the fact that we arrived there midnight.
🛏🚽 Clean rooms and toilets
👩👩👧👦👨👩👦👦 Good for big groups and families
👩🦽 No amenities for PWD

Note:
🌄 It's located on the side of the road that's not directly facing the beach. You can still enjoy the beautiful sunrise by walking towards the shore across the road.
🕔 Small markets open around 7AM. Central area is a 1 hour far so we have to use the van to get to the market and buy food to cook.
🤷♀️ Is Dingalan trip worth it?
😊 Yes and No!
🥳 We went there to celebrate our nephew’s 10th birthday, but due to unforeseen incidents we were not able to leave Manila in the morning that we're supposed to (our fault).
🌧🌫 It was Amihan Season at the time (December), it was muddy and rugged, and most of the roads are under construction so we didn't get to wander around that much.
🏞🏝 Beach is beautiful and there are so many other wonderfu places to explore but we have limited time.
🤟 Overall, we got to celebrate the birthday and what more can we ask for if we get to enjoy it the most precious people in the world, family.
