I dedicate this song to all of you out there who are fighting back against the scammers and those who support those individuals.
This is dedicated to all of the scambaiters out there that go after these scum. I wrote the lyrics, but used AI for the singing and image.
In the cyber world at night I roam
Tracking signals, it's like home
Clicking links so they'll take the bait
I'm a scambaiter, there's no escape
Emails fake with shady thrills
Chasing shadows filled with dollar bills
I see through your fake charade
Justice will be served in this arcade
Game on, click here and I'll track you down
In cyberspace, across the world 'round
You think you're smart, but you're really a clown
I'm on to you like a bloodhound
Within the bits and bytes is your hideaway
I'm unravelling code night and day
Sites and servers, tricks and traps
I'll unveil your secrets and bridge the gaps
Fake prince from across the sea,
Promises of gold from you to me
Now the tables have turned around
This is the hunt and you're going down
Game on, click here and I'll track you down
In cyberspace, the world 'round
You think you're smart, but you're really a clown
I'm on to you like a bloodhound

I think my message is clear in this new music track.
In cyber space we chase the night,
Hidden faces in neon light.
Through the code we set our sights,
On scammers who think their out of sight.
Decrypt the truth from their disguise,
Expose the intentions behind their eyes.
No more shadows, no more lies,
We will cease their rise, cease their rise.
We find you in the matrix maze,
Expose your secrets through the haze.
No more hiding 'til the end of days,
We're the justice that sets you ablaze.
You think you can run,
but for us this is so much fun,
to expose the lies you have spun.
It's only a matter of time before you're done.
This is 100% a scam.
I think it is time to discuss a trend where malicious links are being embedded into Facebook ads. This is another form of a Social Engineering or fraud scam.
The first image below is the link that was found in the browser history, along with the fake indication that the targets Facebook account was suspended. The second is a closeup of the fake warning message, which reads:
"Microsoft windows defender has disabled your computer and internet connection for suspicious activity from Facebook".
Finally, I included a video where you can see the fake Windows Defender popup. While the audio indicates Windows Defender has disabled the computer and internet connection, this does not match the background image, which shows that all features of Windows Defender has been disabled. So which is it?
So how do you deal with this situation?
1.) Do NOT call the number as the only person you'll reach is a scammer. Most-likely you'd be calling into a scam call center.
2.) Close and reopen your browser. If the problem continues, check your browser settings and restore them to default settings. If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall your browser.
3. Restart your computer.
4.) Go to your installed applications list and go to settings/apps/installed apps and look for any unknown applications that you did not install and uninstall them.
5.) Your all done.
Notice in the video he states "Kevin Poulsen" not Kelvin Poulsen. This is a slip up by the scammer, giving away his intent to impersonate a famous 90's hacker.
The distribution of fake video links is not something new for scammer, but it is rapidly making its rounds again.
A message to all you scammers out there.
In this video I discuss account cloning.
I'd also like to add that your profile picture is always set to public and currently this setting cannot be changed by the user. Profile pictures are also targetted by scammers, so for this reason, be sure to choose your photo wisely.
So, it looks like the new end-to-end messenger encryption update may be causing a few issues.
Although this isn't the brightest scammer, it is the first time I encountered his, um... "unique" tactic.
When will you scammers ever learn.
Another discussion about why you shouldn't do those Facebook quizzes.
Is my Facebook account really being hacked?
I decided to put this video together to discuss how your personal identifying information, including your login credentials could be stolen and how you can protect yourself.
This is actually pretty accurate.
