Greys Anatomy has been a comfort in my life, probably because I’ve spent so many years in hospital myself.
Through all the highs and lows it shows, Meredith Grey is a survivor. And quotes like these stick with you for years, helping build a future generation of survivors in its path.
So here’s to the people starting off their weeks feeling broken, or like there isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel. Your journey may be messy but you and the way you’re handling it are beautiful. I promise you there is and you’ve survived all of your bad days so far.
✨Issue 11 cover reveal ✨
Our end of summer issue finally has a cover, and the tagline for this one is easily a fave: “you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy”.
Huge thank you to @thejessicasmells for this utterly relatable image. Have you guys got a submission planned? Have you already submitted? Make sure you get your entries in as soon as you can, because spaces fill incredibly fast! Can’t wait to hear from you all 💖

the cover of issue 11 has a neutral/cream background, with the words wishbone words, issue 11, August 2023 at the top in brown/beige writing. There's also a little illustration of our ghost mascot Whisper holding our rose logo. The focal point of the image is an illustration in various shades of pink with a little bear lying in bed with a packet of crisps, saying "you are exactly where you need to be right now (in bed eating crisps). The tagine for the issue is : "you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy” and this is written below the illustration.
you don't have to change a thing, the world can change it's heart 💕. Wise words from @alessiasmusic in one of my favourite songs ever, which seems perfect for this #BeYourOwnValentine recap post. Thank you so so much to everyone who joined, and we hope this has above all been a reminder that we're all stars and we're beautiful ~ Amy 💫

Sending you all lots of love, and hope you have the best holidays possible. I'm doing a quiz next week for New Year's on the 30th (yes, ANOTHER one, someone called me a quiz monster last week and they were not wrong 😈) but until then, it's goodbye from us at Team Wishbone, as we won't be posting our usual content this week ~ Amy x

Hey there Wishbone Words community! ✌️
I hope you are all doing okay (as best as you can), and that your week has been going well so far.
This week, I chose to talk about reflection for my Well-being Wednesday post. Why? Because reflection is crucial for us to know ourselves and thus, know each-other better.
This quote says it pretty well - time spent reflecting is time spent with yourself. You get to know YOU for who YOU are: what you love/what you hate or dislike/what are your interests, hobbies and dreams/what your strengths/weaknesses are etc
Every single one of these areas (plus many more) play a big part in helping us develop and strengthen our character. Knowing who we are within helps us apply what we learn and wish to achieve externally.
Some of us struggle to reflect - maybe this is because of our past: maybe those around us never do this, or maybe we don’t know how to because we have never had the space to practice. I’m here to remind you that if this is scary, it’s understandable. It is always important to explore this in a safe way, and to have support from trusted people.
There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to reflect - we all have our processes. Some of us meditate, some of us might take a walk/run, some of us might swim, some of us might sit comfortably and drink something warm (or cold, if you prefer), some of us reflect through creativity. There are so many ways to reflect, and each way should align with what feels right and natural for you. After all, reflection is like having a date with yourself: you’d want this to be a comfortable experience if you were doing this with someone else (and full disclosure: you do not need to date anyone if you don’t want to).
Time with yourself though, should always bring joy and happiness. This isn’t always straightforward for those who have challenging circumstances- and that’s okay.
I want you to think about how you have reflected, or how you would like to reflect and what t
