Hi frens! I’ve jumped back on the dlc for the first time since release and I’m feeling a bit more positive about it now. Managed to find all three shiny Jangmo-o from an outbreak so I knew I needed to snap a photo to commemorate the luck 🎉

I managed to find 8 shiny Oddishes from field research and we pulled this lovely Gloom from an Obsidian Flames ETB I picked up on the walk.

When I tell you it was a NIGHTMARE trying to get this guy to cooperate on our photoshoot. Absolute diva. He’s lucky his shiny is so good.
Now that the games have been out for a while, how are we feeling about the starters in general? I really like Fuecoco, Sprigatito and Quaxly but I feel like they become less and less likeable as they evolve. I think Quaquaval is my current favourite but that’s mostly because of the memes that formed around it rather than its actual design 😂

My intrusive thoughts are really winning with this picture. It’s got me wondering if Mismagius’s hat is an item of clothing that can be taken off and put back on at will or if it’s a part of its head. Can I take the hat off and wear it? Is it made of a formless cloud of gas and would evaporate at my touch? Would taking the hat harm the Pokémon? So many questions. Can you answer any of them? 😭

I’m still a very big fan of how nice the textures of the metallic Pokémon are in these games. Say what you want about Scarlet and Violet but they really stepped up the texture game this generation. I hope Game Freak can keep making similar improvements to other parts of Pokémon games going forward 🙏🏻

I still remember when Rockruff was leaked back before Sun and Moon came out, I was so excited. Dusk Lycanroc was one of my original team members that I used to beat the Elite Four for the first time.

We got a bunch of cool new screenshots in the Nintendo Direct today for the upcoming DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
I highly recommend you watch the whole trailer to see everything that was revealed but a few of my highlights were: the return of Vulpix and Milotic and the habitat dome with all the different biomes which I think will be super fun to explore.

Another blessed pull from our Paldea Evolved box from ! The karp was Jen’s number 1 chase card from the set so needless to say the happy squeals were loud in our flat that day 😂
It is a very cool card. It narrowly missed my top 10 but I was also really pleased to see it. There’s some really vibrant and unique art in this set and the karp is a perfect example ❤️
Ahhh, we got our first gold card of the Scarlet/Violet era! Skeledirge is my favourite of the three starters too. coming through with one of the best boxes we’ve ever opened 🙏🏻
Aside from getting the gold Arceus and Giratina from Crown Zenith, we’ve only ever pulled gold item cards which are kinda lame, ngl 😂
What is your favourite starter from Scarlet and Violet?
Now that Paldea Evolved is out, how are we all feeling about Scarlet and Violet base set? It had some amazing cards for sure, this Gardi V is definitely up there for me and is probably my favourite of everything we pulled from the set!
Overall we got treated pretty badly by S/V. We got an egregious amount of dupes and pulled very few of the illustration rares. I think we got maybe 5 after a booster box, an etb and at least 20 single packs.
Still, it was really cool to be actively collecting at the start of a new card era. I didn’t manage to open up any of the early Sword and Shield sets so this is my first proper experience pulling a whole new generation of cards. Exciting times!

Finally got round to transferring some of my favourite shinies up from Home. You know I had to start with Rayray. Got this long fella back in Ultra Sun in what was a pretty quick soft reset hunt, if I remember correctly!

In today’s episode of Dr Tom’s magical moments, we had a majestic encounter with the outrageously friendly squirrels at one of our local parks. These mfs are so obsessed with food that they come right up to you expectantly. There’s been a few stories of them running up people’s legs as well 😂
Luckily for me, Jen had the foresight to immediately whip out this Greedent card and take a couple of snaps. Shoutout to DrJenSnaps for continuing to be better at social media than I am 👏

Hi frens! Hope you’re all having a good weekend. I’m very much still exhausted from London yesterday. I met a bunch of new friends and fellow creators at the Pokèmon meet up and I was blown away by how kind and welcoming everyone was!
I challenged myself to be more social this year and I’m happy that I managed to chat to so many new people. Hopefully the social anxiety will be a bit easier at every subsequent event now 🙏🏻😂

Pokémon Home connectivity is finally coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet next week on May 24th! This means we’ll all be able to move Pokémon caught in S/V into Home storage and for the first time ever, we can move Pokémon that were caught in Scarlet and Violet to previous generation games as long as those Pokémon were available to be captured in the older games. So you can catch a Pikachu in Scarlet and send it all the way back to Let’s Go Pikachu through Pokémon Home!
Exciting stuff. I’m working on a living dex so I’ll be sending one of each generation 9 Pokemon into Home storage. I’ll also be sending all my shinies over! It’s gonna like be Noah’s Ark up in here frfr 😂
