ORLANDO (WFLA) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis met with hair salon owners in Orlando Saturday to discuss the logistics of reopening their businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The governor and the small business owners got together at OhSoooJazzy Hair Salons in Orlando at 1 p.m. and talked about what safety measures salons could implement to prevent spread of the virus inside their shops.

DeSantis announced that the first phase of his “Smart. Safe. Step-By-Step” plan will begin Monday. Phase one does not include reopening of salons and barbershops.

Ok..... we hope all fellow stylists are doing well! Yes the quarantine has put a big hurt on everyone! One thing about hair stylists we all have in common is that we are resilient! We are stronger than most! We will unite together and support our industry like no one has ever experienced!
Now.... I want to share with everyone what I heard on the news last night. In the Orlando area the mayor and governor are having a meeting to determine if salons should re- open... the following is information from CBS 11:00 pm news.....
The meeting is taking place in a private salon in the Orlando area, at the beginning of the news cast the reporter stated that hair salons are very clean and go by strict guidelines.... I’m like jumping up and down! Finally we are recognized as being clean and abiding by strict standards! We rock! Then in a blink of an eye my bubble was busted by the salon owner.....who was not live on the report but was quoted..... because she was so busy cleaning her salon due to the fact the florida governor was to visit her salon.... now sit down for this!..... you may want to grab some oxygen.....the reporter asked her why she was so intently cleaning the salon if it was already clean....... her response..... and this made me gasp for air.... “ITS ALREADY CLEAN, BUT WE WANT IT TO BE SUPER CLEAN FOR THE GOVERNOR........
EXCUSE ME! Air I need air..... so for me and the general public, we are to accept the salon to be “ CLEAN” while the salon will be SUPER CLEAN FOR THE GOVERNOR? What is wrong with this picture? Why can’t salons be super clean for all client’s? Clients are your paycheck!
Please take the time to make sure our salons are “ super clean” 24/7! It’s not that hard! Remember the old saying...

As we begin to venture back to the hustle and bustle of slinging hair and reconnecting to our clients and communities don’t get caught up in the “ I don’t have time for this”. Protect yourself and clients, don’t be just average... be above and beyond the expectations clients have for you and the salon!
