🙋🏾♀️As with any aspect of personal growth, start with you. Begin your own journey of self discovery identifying past opportunities where you could’ve taken responsibility for a mistake and failed to do so. It’s never too late to learn from a mistake. Just as long as you do the work to find true wholeness. Use that self reflection as learning moment and move on. Moving forward you intentionally take accountability when necessary.
👩🏾🎓Be the example of what accountability looks like. Now that you are being responsible and take accountability for your actions, others may see this in you and chose to do the same. Positive actions can be contagious too! You never know who’s looking up to you.
🤓Accountability is a lifestyle. A mindset. It’s not a one time thing when its working to your advantage. Don’t try to slip out of your responsibilities. It’s easy to take all the shine when people are sining your praises, but you really build character and respect when you step up to the plate in difficult situations.
👯♀️Expect the same behaviors from your peers. It really can help you w**d out dead weight or toxic individuals. Don’t play favorites either. Challenge people you value in life to take this occasion to stand tall and be accountable too.
🚫In the same regard, everyone will not identify with or receive your new standard of character. Accountability is something that most will have to develop over time—if they choose to accept it. This may be very difficult for some, as they may have never seen it before, or even know what being accountable is. Remember, everyone has been raised under different circumstances.
🚀People who take accountability typically develop great leadership and life skills that propel them into a successful life. Well, we all have different definitions of what success is—but just know that—you can learn a lot about yourself by taking ownership of mistakes and “wins.” Who you are when you’re not your best shows a lot about who you are. IF that person can take a negative, and find a solution to a problem, then come back and turn things around for the good. What can stop them?
