It is duty of the local MLA to ensure best amenities to the people who have voted for him. The contractor will go but local MLA will remain for next election.

Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society condemns Diyun minor r**e

Diyun, 5 Aug: The Arunachal Pradesh Women's Welfare Society (APWWS) has condemned the r**e and attempt to murder of a 12-year-old girl at a village in Changlang's Diyun circle.

The incident took place on 1 August at about 5pm when the minor of Maitripur village had gone to fetch water from the Noa-Dihing river on a bicycle when she was accosted by the accused identified as Priyo Dewan of the same village.

The girl went missing and found in a severely injured condition on the next morning. She could barely speak and somehow informd that she was r**ed by Priyo Dewan after he had stopped her to help him fetch bamboo.

The girl is presently under medical treatment. As per doctors, she was agitated and semiconscious, with injuries all over her body.

The APWWS expressed deep concern that r**e cases are increasing at an alarming rate in the state and it urged the police to promptly investigate the case for early prosecution.

The police arrested the accused and further investigation is on.

On Wednesday, a APWWS team from Miao unit met the family of the girl. Odi Tamut Singhpo, president of the Unit, stated that the child has been taken to Tinsukia, Assam for further treatment.

The Miao APWWS unit also handed over financial assistance to the family of the victim.

The local residents also started a fund raising campaign in social media to support the victim towards her treatment.

DC Changlang issues order to school over excess fee

The Deputy Commissioner of Changlang on Tuesday issued a circular directing schools in the district to submit status report on collection of school admission fee on or before 28 August.

The direction was issued following receipt of complaints over school charging excess admission fees collected from poor students despite the order issued by the education secretary on 30 July regarding the prescribed school admission fee structure for classes 9-12.

The All Changlang District Students’ Union also wrote to the Changlang DDSE, stating about the issue.

Over 20 days, no swab tests yet for returnees quarantined at Jyotipur ME school Diyun

Diyun, 24th Jun: It has been over 20 days, a number of returnees have been kept at Jyotipur ME school quarantine Centre but no swab testing for COVID-19 was done so far.

As a result, the inmates have put out their appeals in Facebook urging administration to do the test immediately.

If no such test is conducted, how to determine if they are infected or not?

Normally, it is 14-day quarantine, thereafter the decision is made as per the test reports.

Are they going to be released without such test? It will be risky. God forbid.
