Namibia 🇳🇦 has started operations at Africa’s first fully integrated green hydrogen facility at the CMBTECH site in Walvis Bay.

The facility combines a 5 MWp solar park, a 5 MW electrolyser and 5.9 MWh of battery storage in an off-grid system. Its hydrogen is already used in dual-fuel trucks and generators, with plans to power Namibia’s first hydrogen freight locomotive.

The site also includes a refuelling station and training academy, with plans to expand capacity to 500 MW.
