In the wake of the overturning and decades of precedent protecting bodily autonomy, the right to choose is left in the hands of individual states. Access to abortion options is no longer a constitutional right, meaning restrictions will no longer be held to the standard of not constituting an “undue burden” on the right of access to the procedure and states can move to ban it entirely.
In light of the darkness this decision brings, knowing where to access health care for women in and from states beyond that identify Maryland as a safe state, will help us and others prepare for the unknown of what’s to come. These providers offer short and long term birth control provisions, pregnancy tests, abortion options, family planning resources and other health care services.
