Next up, Los Angeles producer & beat maker Dyami O'Brien aka Jamma Dee 🌎 His adolescent obsession with record digging and beatmaking eventually led him to DāM-FunK’s renowned Funkmosphere parties where he built friendships with key players in the funk scene and began to make a name for himself as a DJ and producer. He's a part of the west coast modern funk and boogie scene, having released records under his own name and producing for the likes of Joyce Wrice & Mndsgn.

His first full-length LP 'Perceptions' is one of our favourite 2023 releases, a masterclass in modern and soul production, with influences ranging from classic deep house & new jack rhythms to UK street soul & downtempo R&B, with collaborators including The Koreatown Oddity, Mndsgn & Benedek (check track Datafile Groove 🔥)

Sıcak karşılama to CENGIZ, a DJ, record collector and producer, originally from the lively metropolis of 🇹🇷 Amongst the city's rich tapestry & sonic mosaic, it was jazz that resonated deeply within him, leaving an indelible mark on the trajectory of his journey as an artist. Since relocating to London, he's embarked on a quest to curate a diverse collection of records, delving into genres that span the realms of house, jazz, broken beat and soul.

He's released music on CoCoOp Presentsnd DaDance Regularabels, as well as independently on Bandcamp, is a member of the SeSelectors Assemblerew and curator of 'Bruk Therapy' taking place bi-monthly at GrGrow, HackneyHe's served up a suitably eclectic mix here, including some unreleased tracks and upcoming releases.

Welcome Diego Lelli aka Lego Edit 🇮🇹 Hailing from , he & his label Legofunk put out some seriously killer cuts & regrooves, a veritable groovy jam factory, us stumbling across his productions after picking up LGF 010 Dirtyelements & Drunkdrivers in a Rome record store (check out the insane track Cuica Groove 🇧🇷).

Discogs doesn’t know much about him, but describes him as “a mysterious producer.. known for his funky vibrant creations, usually centring around breakbeat-ready musical themes coupled with futuristic funk sampling & soulful blends” ❔🙃❓

Boogie business done right & primed for a party, he has served up a typically funkified mix, with Afro, Latin, Asian & disco vibes, all heavy percussion & infectious grooves🪘

Stepping up next is party lover, dancer, DJ, co-host of Endless Groove, a non-profit community driven party & initiator of Black Is... , a platform championing POC artists: moe.

Forever inspired & in love with the communal joy manifested on dancefloors, he's a globetrotter - musically as you'll hear & literally, originally hailing from Sudan, raised in Abu Dhabi & Dubai, he's also lived in New Orleans, Kuala Lumpur, Stockholm & now based in Berlin. The mix in his own words:

"I really didn't have a clear picture for what I wanted to play for Just For The Night, when a friend messaged to tell me that one of our favourite directors, Shinichirō Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop fame, was directing a new anime scored by Floating Points(!!!). I knew immediately that I wanted to start with 'Tank!', the opening soundtrack of Cowboy Bebop which was my first introduction to Watanabe, the incredible composer Yoko Kanno, as well as the world of Japanese jazz.

The energy & explosiveness of that track remains so utterly infectious, an absolute shot of adrenaline. Everything fell into place from there as I used that groove as an inspiration & guide while playing music that I feel captures its essence across different genres. Old & new favourites here, with the common thread being that they'd make me throw mad shapes on a dance floor.

Thanks to Dust Down Records for the invite, was a lot of fun playing this one x"

Joeginho, the younger half of Dust Down Records, has been quietly brewing this, his first EP 'About Time'.

Sonic melodic hip-hop from the soul, straight out of the fires of South London, with psychedelic sensibilities & lush layering, building a soundscape that is at once recognisable & completely fresh.

Inspired by G-Funk grooves, 90s hip-hop/R&B & melodic masters, from D'Angelo to SiR inglewoodSiR, with countless others too numerous to mention, this EP is a nod to sounds that Joeginho grew up on and a pretext to what comes next.

Dedicated to our father, with 50% of profits donated to anti-corruption champions Led By Donkeys, homelessness charity Emmaus UK, Beam transforming how the world helps homeless people & refugees and finally the RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews saving all lives at sea.

Eddie Logix is a Detroit-based DJ & producer we've admired for a long while. His discography is pretty intimidating at this point, seemingly only dropping solid gold. His most recent release Flight Risk on Rocksteady Disco is a masterful 4 track EP drawing from leftfield, Detroit house dance floor sounds, disco, Afrobeat and Balearic influences. If you're in Detroit, you can catch him letting loose solo style Sunday 23rd July from 4-10pm for the Pet Fête party in the beautiful backyard at Ladder 4 Wine bar in an old Detroit firehouse, celebrating all things bubbly.

Questa settimana andiamo in Italia con G&D aka Gino Grasso & Dino Angioletti🇮🇹

Long time collectors, DJ's and producers, Gino and Dino initially made their mark on the scene with a residency at Kinki club in Bologna, helping to raise the profile of Italian house with a very personal interpretation of electronic music, full of Detroit influences & a deep-rooted sense of groove 🚀

Gino started buying records at 11 years old in the late 70s when his uncle was working at an independent radio station & soon fell in love with disco and boogie seeking out obscure gems off the radar of collectors at the time. He was part of the amazing Italian DJ crew Garage Paradise, alongside the like of Enrico Crivellaro aka Volcov - Neroli, Luca Trevisi and other ragazzi. His compilation “We Know How To Boogie” for BBE Music contains some insanely dope disco & boogie jams worth checking out.

Since 1994 Dino's been a member of crew The Pastaboys – with Uovo and Deejay Rame – with whom he's collaborated with the likes of Osunlade & Masters At Work

Expect groovy records, enchanting disco, serious funk, stunning reworks of old school tunes, obscure gems, classics and pure love for the warmest music ever. Eternally grateful that two legends in the game have come through with an hour of soulful sounds to get you in the mood for the weekend.

This week we're heading to Salvador with musician, DJ & producer Alexandre Processo aka Processman. His universal sound, traversing grooves from disco, funk, house and Brazilian music, caught our ears on the recent Adupé EP on File Under Disco, two original tracks with Cady on vocals and remixes by Jkriv, Joutro Mundo and Dicky Trisco. Going back a bit further, we loved his track Do Beijo, a collab with Yuksek , later featured on the French producer's album Nosso Ritmo. He's also got a recent release Baba Oni on label Mareh Music & runs Bahia Boogie. Time to free the groove 🇧🇷

We're heading to with Wendel Sield. His Entity EP, released on his own label Obia Records, more than piqued our interest a few years ago, with its insanely lush percussion & masterful layering, and safe to say we've been following his output pretty keenly since.

OBIA003 saw Trinidadian Deep & the Sonic Movement EP, guided by the Caribbean producer who delves deep into the spirit of the cosmos with a super percussive & spacious-chords-filled EP.

Wendel grew up in a family that loved music, surrounded by jazz, soul and funk from an early age. We're stoked he's pulled through with a decidedly energetic, deep mix 🚀
