Itโ€™s that time of the monthโ€”Labor Day has finally arrived. But not the kind of โ€œlaborโ€ that makes you say โ€œmy water broke!โ€ This is the kind where alarms ring too early, deadlines chase you everywhere, and coffee becomes your closest ally just to survive Monday to Friday.

Every day, behind every meal served, every road repaired, every building standing, every classroom taught in, and every hospital that continues to function, are individuals working tirelessly to make it all possible. Every community that thrives is built on the labor of Filipinos who deserve to be recognized. They are not just workersโ€”they are the backbone of the country. What seems like a normal day is, in reality, powered by nonstop effort and resilience.

Some of them are our own parents, siblings, relatives, and loved onesโ€”working quietly and tirelessly to ensure there is food on the table and a better future ahead.

So today, we donโ€™t just say โ€œHappy Labor Dayโ€โ€”we say ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚! To every Filipino worker, to every family member who keeps going and endures it allโ€”this day is yours. Not just for celebration, but for recognition, respect, and a reminder that you deserve rest as much as the effort you give.

To everyone who stood behind our student researchersโ€” thank you. For the quiet sacrifices you never announced, the endless unwavering support, and the simple encouragements that pushed them forward when doubt was loud. Parents, teachers, coaches, and friendsโ€” you were the strength that guided them towards this journey at the International Creativity and Innovation Award.

You didnโ€™t just encourage them to compete. You carried them there. Every medal and every proud moment on that stage belongs to you too. Because behind every young mind that chose to shine, there will always be people who believed that they could fly. Thank you for helping them spread their wings, and for reminding them that they were never flying alone.

There are moments in a studentโ€™s life that quietly redefines everything. For a remarkable group of student researchers, that moment has arrived not in a classroom, but on an international stage. Today marks the day where you show your creativity and dedication because to stand among global innovators is no small matter.

Each participant carries stories from their homeland. Stories that make change and inspire. Behind every abstract ideas and prototype lies a journey shaped by discipline and a belief that ideas, no matter how smallโ€”can ripple outward and make an impact. As these student researchers step onto the International stage, they carry with them the pride of the SciTechistas and the Philippines.

Always remember, that you carry not just your researchโ€” but the passion and effort that brought it to life. Speak with confidence and embrace the challenge with pride. Beyond the competition itself, this is the chance to learn, to connect, and to go in ways that go far beyond the result.

Journalism lives in the space between silence and story. It is the restless urge to ask, to listen, and to chase the truth before it slips away. In radio broadcasting, that chase becomes something powerful. Voices give rhythm to silence, turning cold scripts into stories that travel unseen. Alongside it, copyreading sharpens the truthโ€”the careful eye that captures every tremor in grammar. Sometimes, the truth is carried by the rise of a voice or the swift stroke of a pen.

Before the microphone is switched on and before the timer counts down, there is always a moment of silence. For some, this silence may seem intimidatingโ€”but for Zion Mae Artiaga, it is simply the calm before the voice rises. As a radio broadcaster, she discovered that facts are not only confined to paper; they can also be delivered through a voice confident enough to inspire change. Her dedication has carried her all the way to the National Schools Press Conference, where she placed 4th in scriptwriting and 5th in overall radio production, a milestone only a handful of young broadcasters achieve.

Moreover, before a story earns its place in the public eye, it must first pass through the quiet hands of someone who knows how to refine truth from error. Not all heroes of journalism stand in the spotlightโ€”some sharpen the story before it ever gets there. In Pagwawasto ng Sipi at Pag-uulo ng Balita, Lexelle Gem Fernandez carries this responsibility in every word she refines. She works in the quiet margins of journalismโ€”correcting, shaping, and elevating storiesโ€”understanding that every small correction brings a story closer to the truth. Now, as an NSPC qualifier, her relentless efforts have brought her recognition and serve as an inspiration.

Our sincerest ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ to these ๐— ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ท๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐˜€! We are proud of you, and may this success continue to inspire you to strive for excellence in all that you do.
