Season 2: Episode 6
We are back with episode 6! This week, we tackle the tricky topic of PRIVILEGE! Let us know what you think, and what your experience has been around groups of privileged people.
Episode 3: An off-script chat with Mel Jones
In this episode we chat to the lovely Mel Jones about growing up on the Cape Flats, being a woman of colour, claiming your place and being proud of who you are.
So, this one is very different for a number of reasons. For a start, at an hour long it’s much longer than any of our other episodes. Also, other than adding a jingle at the start and the end, we didn’t edit this one bit at all. We didn’t remove any “umms”, any “ahhs” or anything else we didn’t want in this conversation. We had such a fun and informative chat with Mel that we simply didn’t want to water it down. This is us, raw and unedited. We hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as we enjoyed having it. It’s a good one!

Episode 12: Celebrating Women
In this last episode of season 1, we celebrate women! We talk about women we admire, the obstacles that women still face today and just generally what we wish could change.
Episode 11: Embracing your natural hair
In this episode of The Brown Girl’s Guide podcast, we discuss how we’ve come to embrace our natural (for the most part) and the journey it took to reach this point. With media, friends and family always making us think that straight hair is better, nicer or prettier, it hasn’t been easy to reach this point at all.
Episode 10: What we wish we knew before we started working
In this episode of The Brown Girl’s Guide podcast, we talk about things we wish we knew before we started working. There were many things that took us by surprise and many things we just weren’t prepared for as young people in the working world. We unpack it all in this episode, plus give a few tips for those who may need it.
Episode 9: Colour politics in the workplace
Did someone say rant? Just kidding! This week, we tackle another difficult topic that we've struggle with in our careers - colour politics. This is one that we're sure transcends industries, so we're hoping some of you can relate! As always, we love hearing your feedback, so keep it coming.
Episode 8: What to know when moving out
This week's topic was so much fun to record. We dive into moving out of your childhood home into your own place for the first time, and all the things we wish we knew! From saving up for a deposit, to making sure you have enough sheets, we talk about it all. We'd love to hear what you think, let us know in the comments!
Episode 5: The coloured accent in the workplace
