A 34-year-old engineer from Uttar Pradesh, Atul Subhash, tragically died by su***de at his residence in Bengaluru on Monday. Subhash, who worked at a private firm, left behind a detailed 24-page su***de note accusing his wife and her family of harassment.
Investigations reveal that Subhash had been grappling with marital issues and faced multiple legal cases filed by his wife in Uttar Pradesh. In a video he recorded before his death, Subhash discussed these challenges and shared his distress online. He also sent the su***de note via email to several people and shared it in a WhatsApp group associated with an NGO he was involved with.
Subhash’s note and video highlighted his struggles, with him stating, “...A legal genocide of men happening in India currently.” Additionally, he hung a placard in his house reading, “Justice is due,” and meticulously organized his belongings, leaving details on a cupboard about his note, vehicle keys, and completed and pending tasks.
In the video, Subhash alleged that his wife had filed nine cases against him, including six in a lower court and three in the high court, which he claimed drove him to this extreme step. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
