Rapid population growth leaves many negative effects and enormous pressure on many aspects of social life.

First, population explosion puts pressure on nature. A larger population means a much greater need for land, clean water, clean air, and resources. Rapid population growth leads to shortages of clean water and resource depletion in many countries.

According to statistics, the reduction of forest area is also a consequence of population explosion. Meanwhile, pollution is also increasing. Water, air, noise, and light pollution are increasingly common and widespread. All of these consequences worsen climate change and global warming.
Second, rapid population growth puts pressure on the economy. Supply is greater than demand, leading to unemployment and poverty in many countries. While the government does not have enough funds to spend on social benefits, the people's own lives are in dire straits.

Further more, population growth leads to a decline in quality of life. In poor countries, where economic, social and medical conditions are still underdeveloped, infant mortality rates are still high. In addition, there is malnutrition, lack of conditions for learning and development. Overpopulation causes the world to brace itself in the face of crime, war and disease.

So what is the cause of population growth? There are many causes for this situation.

-The difference in birth and death rates
In essence, too fast population growth is understood as a large birth-death ratio difference. When more people are born than die, the population will increase. The world in the development stage is the time when the population is growing fastest. People's living conditions are improved, people live longer. Meanwhile, the birth rate remained the same, even increased. That's why the population is increasing.

-Due to labor demand
From the need for labor within the family, people have had the mentality of having many children. For example, in areas with undeveloped economic conditions, families often give birth to children for the purpose of having a job and supporting the economy. If in a country, this situation is common, then the rapid population growth is also understandable.

-Notion
The next reason for population growth is due to the concept of Eastern culture. Eastern people have the thought that if they have many children, they will have fortune, and the descendants will be even. It is this concept that partly leads to population growth. Especially when it is handed down from generation to generation.

-Population policy and family planning
Most countries have population and family planning policies. One of the purposes of this is to reduce the birth rate. However, in many places, people have not been able to access and have not enough awareness about this issue. On the other hand, in many areas the policy has not been fully implemented. The well-implemented population and family planning policy will be an effective means of controlling the current population growth.

Vietnam is the 15th most populous country in the world and is among the countries with the highest population density. The population is, however, not evenly distributed across the country. The Red River Delta and the Mekong River Delta have the largest concentrations of inhabitants, historically due to the favorable conditions for important economic activities such as agriculture and fisheries
