Life isn’t black or white, and it rarely stays the same for long—which can be both beautiful and bittersweet.

Life brings surprises and heartbreak alike, building us up and breaking us down. But in those moments, we often realize that going back isn’t an option. Moving forward means embracing change and finding strength in the journey. Having the support of community by our side makes it less lonely, and of course even more rewarding.

We finished The Wild Robot today and watched the movie (spoiler: this mama cried a lot!). Like Roz, it’s okay to lean on those around us when we need a hand. Together, we’ll find our way home 💛

, thank you for such a beautiful story that reminds us of resilience and the power of connection.

In a culture that glorifies the hustle, it’s no wonder we’re overwhelmed! Stress and anxiety are prevalent, and seem like the price we have to pay, right?

But what if there was another way? What if we could transform our stress into something that actually benefits us?

🎧 PG-ish episode 321 features Dr. Alia Crum, a mindset and psychology expert from Stanford, who will flip the script on stress. Rather than draining us, she will teach us how to reframe stress to fuel growth, resilience and purpose.

Be kind to yourself and take a moment to recenter your scattered, frazzled Monday mind.

Pause to be still and to breathe slowly.

Notice the elements around you, planting your feet firmly on the ground. Inhale and exhale to reset your nervous center.

You’re enough and you’ve got this ❤️

As parents, it’s easy to be hyper aware of the environment we create for our kids. Even before they’re born, we may obsess over the safest and best products to buy. However, we may not always think about the food they eat, the products we put on their skin, or the habits we maintain, which is why my conversation with Bethany McDaniel is so important.

As the founder of Primally Pure and a mom of three, she focuses on a holistic approach to life and parenting. We discuss why being mindful to the chemicals and dyes our bodies come in contact with, and how to connect with natural rhythms of the day to help find joy and renewal in our lives, especially in the small things when life can be overwhelming and busy.

Feeling overwhelmed?

You’re not alone, mama—we’re all just winging it 😅

If parenting feels like a whirlwind of emotions and stress today, here’s a quick reminder:

✨ Acknowledge your emotions.
Give yourself grace to feel whatever you’re feeling—it’s okay to not have it all together.

Now, pause.

Take a big belly breath (or five!), and move your body. We like dance parties and long walks over here. A post dinner walk Moana lip sync in our living room may or may not have happened tonight!

And remember, you’ve got this 💪

Being a single mom is a different kind of hard.

I usually focus on the good because it’s all too easy to drown in the negative. But when it comes to talking about the struggles of motherhood—especially doing it solo—it’s a different story. Unless you’ve walked this path, it’s impossible to fully understand just how heavy the load can be.

Because let’s be real—it’s time we were recognized for doing the impossible. We’re out here carrying more than anyone could imagine, and still getting the short end of the stick. I usually focus on the good because it’s too easy to get lost in the negative. But when it comes to the reality of solo parenting, it’s a different story.

It’s tough to put into words how hard it really is. Yes, I’m beyond grateful for my amazing neighbors and the little community we’ve built with our 8 girls around the same age. But at the end of the day, I’m the sole leader and provider of my home.

No child support.

No family close by to step in when things get overwhelming.

Some days, it’s just too much.

I often try to ignore the label of “single mom” because, honestly, it would send me spiraling otherwise.

The truth? It’s hard. Immeasurably hard.

Even though it is invisible, good kitefliers learn to watch the wind and how it affects things around them.

With wind comes turbulence.

Without wind though, you can’t fly a kite.
...raising kids is very similar.

As the mama, I try to stay patient and help my kiddos ride the turbulent waves, to help them see blind spots in their environment, their thoughts and words.

(Please do note, I don’t always get this right and have my own turbulent waves of emotions to navigate, hence the need for self awareness and having the right tools to grow.)

As babies and toddlers, and now tweens and teens, I don’t expect my kiddos to fully grasp my explanations, but I see it as planting a seed. I persist, hopefully more each time, in love, in patience, with a little bit of feistiness and humor, and of course grace.

Today is a new day, a new breeze to ride on, full of new mercies and new perspective. You’ve got this 💪

Motherhood sure isn’t easy, even on the easiest day, yet I don’t know who I’d be without these two.

As the lines blur from my birthday to Mother’s Day this week, from traveling sans kiddos to back to work and single mommying, I’m grateful for all of the love, hugs, notes and crafts I received.

I’m certainly not equipped for the job but was entrusted with these little ones, and I hope I can be the person they need, in the good times and bad. They’ll never know how many tears are shed, fears analyzed, dreams dreamt, but I hope they feel a little bit of my love.

Modeling to our children starts from day one – they’re watching and learning from our every move. From kindness to perseverance, to nutrition and exercise, we’re their first teachers and laying the foundation for who they become.

My circuitous path (like most people) has been diverse but rooted in one thing: empowering others.

I’m still a newbie per se, only a little over a decade into this mom gig, but I’m here to be your biggest fan in this crazy thing called motherhood.

I geek out on all sorts of things, including travel, food, mental health, neuroscience, and all things wellness. Ask me anything!

🤔 We all experience hard things and off days—but how often do we realize we have a choice whether to be happy or not?

As parents, we want our children to be happy, but we can’t teach them something we’re not living out ourselves.

👉🏼Today’s PG-ish episode featuring Connie Podesta offers some stories and insights into how to be a happy role model.

That’s a wrap on in Nashville!

Sadly very few pictures were taken as I was focused on being present - connecting with so many amazing people, learning and being inspired to grow, and soaking up tools to implement in the next few days, weeks and months.

Having started with a pitstop in Austin to work and play, and chase all of the hearts (tune into PG-ish episode 303 to learn more about that), this wee ambivert has hit her limit and the tank is empty 😮‍💨

Note to all of the mamas who get both their fill from people and solitude, be sure to rest. Soaking up the California sunshine at the beach today was exactly what this mama needed! Recharge to take more inspired action. The world is ready and waiting for us to speak up!

Funny that the only picture I took with friends, whether new or old, was at the airport. Shout out to who I met virtually at my first Mom 2.0 in 2020 👊🏼

I was honored to be on PG-ish Parenting podcast. Erin is a delight and we talked about how we need to prioritize play - for our kids and for ourselves too!

Also, why it’s critical that we give context to our kids for how to learn to connect, communicate, and problem solve through real conversations and human connections.
