*Father R***d Daughter, Accused Arrested within Hours in Baramulla: Police*

Srinagar, October 02 (KS) : Baramulla police arrested r**e accused within hours in Kalantra Payeen, Uri of North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Official told Kashmir Scroll (KS) that police station Kreeri received written complaint from one girl (name withheld) age about 19 years stating therein that she was r**ed by her father namely Mohd Rafeeq Mochi son of Abdul Jabbar resident of Kalantra Payeen and is absconding from home.

"On this written complaint FIR was registered in Police Station Kreeri under relevant sections of law", he said.

"Police Station Kreeri utilizing all technical and human sources and with strenuous efforts traced the accused and arrested him in the instant case", he further added.

Further medico legal formalities conducted of the girl and further investigation of the case is in progress.

*✅Seven daughters’ father left in despair as groom skips wedding in Kandizal Area of Awantipora Pulwama District*

⭕👉Srinagar, Sep 19: In a shocking incident, a groom skipped his wedding in the Kandizal area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Expressing deep shock, locals who spoke to The Kashmiriyat said that Mohammed Shaban, a local who is father to seven daughter had got one of his daughters married to one Fayaz Ahmed, however, Fayaz did not come to Shaba ‘s home on the marriage day with Barat to get his wife.

They said that the Nikah of the duo had been performed four years ago and they had prepared for the reception of the groom, however, he did not even inform Shaban’s family.

The whole village was waiting for the groom and it got late in the night, but the groom did not come.

We tried calling them constantly, but they did not receive the call. We had prepared everything including Wazwan, stored gold for the bride and some for the groom. We were full ready to recieve the Baraat, we have to throw all the food now,” said a local resident.

This should not happen to any daughter or to any family, he said. “This father has seven daughters. Imagine the sort of mental pressure he has. But look at the cruel society we have turned into,” he expressed.

Displaying the Nikah papers and other gold ornaments, he said that the police should intervene and resolve the issue.

🔘👉🏻 ```Ganderbal,July 31 (KNO):Fire broke out on Sunday evening in a commercial complex at Beehama Chowk in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that fire broke in commercial complex at Beehama market.

He said that soon after fire broke out, the fire tenders were called, who are on job to douse off the flames.

The official said that the efforts are on to douse off the fire while cause of fire is being ascertained.

Cloud Burst Induced Flash Floods Hit Village in Kangan

Ganderbal 29 July (CNS): Flash floods hit the Gujjarpati Prang village of Ganderbal district's Kangan area on Saturday morning after the cloud burst in its upper reaches.

As per the locals, a cloud burst occurred in the upper reaches of the Gujjarpati Prang in early morning, triggering flash floods which disrupted the normal life in the affected areas.

"Following the incident, concerned police and other officials including SDM Kangan reached the spot," they said, adding that the people in the flood hit areas were evacuated swiftly to safer places by the police and rescue teams.

However, there were no reports of any casualties immediately after the incident. Further details are awaited.

The summer vacations will end on August 6, 2023.

"It is for the information of all concerned that the teaching departments of the University and its satellite campuses shall observe summer vacations w.e.f 28th July, 2023 to 6th August, 2023", reads an order, a copy of which lies with GNS.

"However the Departmental offices shall function normally and the Heads of the Departments/Directors of Campuses/Centres shall ensure that the examinations, if any, and other activities are conducted as per schedule", reads the order further.

☑️ *12-year-old Shopian girl writes 30 chapters of Qur’an in two months*

🔘👉🏻 ```Shopian,Jul 05 (KNO): A twelve-year-old girl from south Kashmir’s Shopian has written 30 chapters of the holy Qur’an by hand in just 60 days.

Soliha Shafi, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Bhat, from Watchi Shopian, is a student in the 8th class at Al-Saba School Watchi.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Soliha said she wrote the holy Qur’an on close to around 750 pages.

“I started reciting the Qur’an when I was 4 years old. I have memorised five chapters of the holy book,” she said.

A local Imam Sahib comes to our residence on a daily basis to teach us the holy Qur’an and after seeing my handwriting, he suggested I write the Qur’an, the girl said, adding, “It was a challenging task and I had to balance the studies and writing the Qur’an.”

“I would like to thank my parents for supporting me wholeheartedly and my teacher who helped and encouraged me in carrying out the task,” Soliha said. “My aim in life is to become a Hafizah (one who memorises the whole Qur’an by heart) and a doctor.”

Soliha said she had planned to complete the handwriting of the whole Qur’an in a month but due to exams, she wasn't able to complete it in the expected time.

She said giving education to girls is a must as educating a woman is considered educating the whole family.

Youth must avoid spending more time on social networking sites and they must use these sites for education purposes only and not waste time in futile exercises, she added—(KNO)```

According to the Police, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly r**ed by Zaid Feroz of old Barzulla who is said to be the close relative of girl.

Srinagar Police in a tweet as per news agency CNI said, “One Accused namely Zaid Feroz of old barzulla, Srinagar aged 22 years arrested for ra**ng a 12 year old child (name withheld). The accused is close relative of victim girl child.”

🔘👉🏻 ```New Delhi,July 03 KDC:In a major development, the Supreme Court of India will hear petitions against the abrogation of Article 370 on July 11.

A five-member bench comprising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B R Gavai, and Justice Surya Kant has been constituted to hear the case.

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba M***i on Saturday requested the CJI for an early hearing of a batch of petitions challenging the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019.

“We want to invite the attention of the CJI to the petitions which are pending in the Supreme Court for the last four years and also towards the plight of … people, especially the youth who are in jails within and outside J-K without any trial,” Mehbooba told reporters here. (KDC)```

☑️ *Summer vacations announced for schools in Kashmir division from July 1*

🔘👉🏻 ```Srinagar,Jun 24 (GNS):Amid continuous heat wave, the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department (SED) on Saturday announced summer vacations for all government and recognised private schools up to higher secondary level from July 1 to July 10.

"It is hereby ordered that all the government educational institutions and recognised private schools up to higher secondary level functioning in Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division shall observe summer vacation w.e.f July 1 to 10 of 2023," the SED order, a copy of which lies with GNS reads.

Notably the summer vacation has been announced in view of the prevailing heat wave in Kashmir as the day temperature crossed 35 degree Celsius making it difficult for the students to bear the scorching heat.

☑️ *Class 9th student goes missing from Sopore, family seeks help*

🔘👉🏻 ```Sopore,June 16 (KNO):A 15-year-old boy went missing from Sopore area of north Kashmir as Baramulla district while the family has appealed to the general public and police to help them in tracing their beloved.

The youth, identified as Hashim Shabir Gojiri, son of Shabir Ahmed Gojiri of Batapora Sopore in Baramulla district went missing from yesterday afternoon.

Hashim's family told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that soon after Hashim left home, they tried to contact him, but didn't get any response. “We called our relatives and his friends but could not find him anywhere,” they said.

After failing to trace him, the family has filed a missing report in Police Station Sopore.

"Anybody having any information regarding the missing boy may kindly inform the family on : 9541654245 and 9797233960," they said.
