Here’s how it works (FAQ)

1️⃣ Meeting Formats - Flexibility is Key
Mentees and mentors can choose to meet online or offline, depending on their locations and convenience. If you're both in the same area, why not have a face-to-face session?

2️⃣ Frequency & Duration of Meetings
We recommend meeting at least once a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Regular interactions are crucial for building a strong mentor-mentee relationship and ensuring continuous progress.

3️⃣ Setting Goals & Style
The first meeting in January is all about setting the tone. Mentors and mentees will align on goals, mentoring styles, and expectations. This is where you tailor your mentorship journey to fit your needs and aspirations.

4️⃣ Mentorship Customization
The program is as dynamic as you make it. Whether it's applying knowledge in practical scenarios, delving into articles in your spare time, or working on specific skill sets - it's about what works best for you.

We're thrilled to announce the launch of our Mentorship "Sistership" Program! An initiative designed to connect, inspire, and elevate women in the IT field on Cyprus.

What's Happening:
We're beginning this wonderful journey by opening our doors to potential mentors. If you've ever wanted to share your experience, guide budding tech enthusiasts, and be a beacon for aspiring women in tech, this is your moment!

📣 Calling All Mentors!
If you're someone who:

🌟 Has saturated experience in the IT or tech-related field.
🌟 Believes in empowering women through knowledge and support.
🌟 Is ready to commit to a three-month mentorship journey with weekly catch-ups.

Then, we're looking for you! 🌈

Mentorship Dynamics:

1. Starts now: Post mentor recruitment, we'll publish a list of available mentors.
2. December: Prospective mentees can browse and select whom they feel aligns best with their aspirations and goals. After mentors will make their choice among enrolled people.
3. January to March: Mentorship period, weekly meetings between mentors and mentees.
4. April: Celebration and Program Conclusion.

👀 Sisters, opportunity to help Cyprus NGO Birth Forward https://www.birthforward.com/ . Looking for volunteers to create a brief for a website development company.

Hi, my name is Kate and I am a board member of Cyprus NGO Birth Forward. The mission of the NGO is to inform parents about choices they could make around pregnancy, birth, and post-partum, advocating for parents' rights. We do it as there is a lot of evidence regarding birth in Cyprus, including:
- biggest C-section rate in Europe
- lowest breastfeeding rate
- violation of human rights at birth
We are looking for pro-bono support with our website, someone to help us create a brief for a website development company that will be engaged to re-work the website.
The Current website version is working as a directory for professional NGO members and a place where we share helpful information for parents in Cyprus. We also want the website to help boost our subscriptions for membership.
It is made of WP and I wonder if we need to keep it this way, as there are no professional resources to keep it actual (this is one of the problem why it's outdated).
It would be also great to have some dedicated PM work once we submit the brief for assessing the best offer, and checking final results of the work.
It might be too much to ask, so the last point is optional :)
It is approximately 4 hours of work for someone experienced in marketing, website development and optimization. Still, I may be completely wrong, and it is up to the professional to assess.

The Myth of Man the Hunter

New research published in PLOS One finds that women have been hunting alongside men throughout the Homo sapiens lineage.

Data were compiled from literature on sixty-three different foraging societies across the globe. 50 (79%) of the groups had documentation on women hunting. In societies where hunting is considered the most important subsistence activity, women actively participated in hunting 100% of the time.

These results aim to shift the male-hunter female-gatherer paradigm to account for the significant role females have in hunting, thus dramatically shifting stereotypes of labor, as well as mobility.
