A little background that I didn’t share in the video: When Atlas hit his first sleep regression around 5 months, we opted to do sleep training. We chose one that allowed us to soothe and assist him in sleeping as opposed to one that called for “crying it out.” The main reason we chose this is because he wasn’t getting any sleep, which meant I wasn’t getting any sleep. It came to a point where I was so exhausted that I was beginning to become frustrated with him, which I where I drew the line. Enter sleep training. However you choose sleep for your baby is your right as a parent. We chose sleep training for the well-being of our family, and it has helped tremendously. BUT! Sleep regressions are a real thing. They happen when your baby hits developmental milestones that are stretching their brains and physical and mental capabilities. From what I’m understanding, it doesn’t matter whether you sleep train, co-sleep, or any other kind of sleep. They hit the regression and you have to help them through it.
