Dr. Rob Bryant is a man of incredible tenacity. After a 55’ fall that left him paralyzed from the waste down he refused to be beaten. He took the diagnosis and accepted the challenge of achievement earning 2 Guinness World Records, a PhD, authored 4 books, and has spoken at hundreds of events in front of thousands of people across the country. He’s a truly inspiring person and to hear the details of his journey was real pleasure.

Had a great discussion today with Brandon Rhyder about his journey to becoming a Texas Country troubadour. How he got into music, the stories behind the hit songs, the cost and sacrifice from years of touring on the road, and how COVID changed his professional strategy in a way that he never thought possible. Aside from the joy of getting to speak with a professional story teller, it was an honor to talk to the man behind the voice that had a great impact on me personally. Surprise Episode! This came on short notice but I couldn't turn it down. My guest today was Nick Slatten. Nick was working as a contractor for Black Water in 2007 when he was ambushed outside of Baghdad. The following events changed his life forever... He was convicted in 2014 for Voluntary Manslaughter and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In 2020 President Trump gave him full pardon and sent him home to his family.
Today Nick is fighting for others who shared a similar fate as political sacrifice in an effort to maintain foreign relations. Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs was convicted of 3 counts of murder in 2010, some of which he wasn't even present for. I hope you can find the time to hear his story and realize that for many who answered the call the war not yet ended.
