UPDATE ON OUR ROUTINE VISIT TO OUR INDEFATIGABLE CLIENT - ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE SERVICES (DSS) ABUJA, TODAY, BEING THE 21ST DAY OF JULY, 2022:

Our team of lawyers conducted the Court-Ordered routine visit to our indefatigable Client - Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu today, at the DSS Headquarters, Abuja.

We observed with greatest shock, a unilateral detour from the Court-Ordered guideline, obviously introduced by the DSS in grave violation of the extant Court Order/Guideline. The visit, which ought not to have lasted beyond two hours, ended up being overstretched for (4) hours due to a change in the modalities of the visit, which gravely violated Onyendu’s right to Client-Lawyer privilege/privacy.

Despite the initial bottleneck, we, Onyendu’s lawyers, who originally set out to jointly debrief Onyendu on the status of his matter and other legal undertakings, were separately/individually admitted for the visit. This was in clear violation of the extant Court’s Guideline. Nevertheless, we proceeded to conduct the visit.

This new twist is an infraction that will be challenged at the appropriate forum, in the unlikely event that our protest to the detaining Authority, and the Court in particular, falls on deaf ears.

In view of this change in status quo, I was made to first conduct the meeting with Onyendu and we separately gave our briefs on the status of his case, as well as the general inroad so far recorded, which details remains private.

I spent quality time with Onyendu, and this afforded us veritable opportunity to extensively brainstorm on availing legal strategies being explored for the best output by his team of lawyers ably led by the legal Iroko - Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

As usual, Onyendu thanked you all, millions of his followers, fans and Ezigbo UmuChineke for your unfailing solidarity. He reiterated that the fact that he is still strong and firm today, is attributable to your resoluteness, ceaseless prayers and undiluted loyalty. He deeply appreciates everyone who is collectively united in this uncommon resolve.

Be assured that we, in the legal team are not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring Onyendu’s unconditional release, which details remain private.

Onyendu continues to urge Ezigbo UmuChineke to maintain calm as you have always done, while expressing his firm belief that this journey will end in Glory.

Most importantly, Onyendu assures you all that his present incarceration in solitary confinement is a sacrifice that will not go in vain. He solicits your understanding, patience and cooperation to enable us to see the manifestation of the Will of God in this regard.

He was an Igbo man who advised Nnamdi Azikiwe against ‘one Nigeria’. But Azikiwe was too greedy and selfish to listen.

Mazi Mbonu Ojike was born in 1914. He was a native of Arondizuogu, Imo state in BIAFRA land.

Ojike was a writer and an activist.

He advanced from a choirmaster, organist, and teacher in an Anglican school to become a student in America and then a cultural and economic nationalist.

He was the Second Vice President of NCNC and Deputy Mayor of Lagos in 1951.

Ojike was known as the “boycott king” for his slogan, ‘boycott the boycottables’.

In America, he spent 8 years involved in intellectual pursuit and improving outsiders’ knowledge of Africa speaking from an African perspective.

Upon his return, he promoted his brand of Africanisation, a persistent consumption of African forms of cloths, food, dress, religion and dances while also believing in the selective benefits of foreign amenities.

Ojike made common the use of the word Mazi as a substitute for Mr.

Among his publications are My Africa and I have Two Countries.

Ojike was a sophisticated critic who was passionate about economic nationalism, he was sometimes outspoken which earned him some enmity/enermies.

Ojike believed in selective importation and imitation. He wanted Africa to be economically free and politically independent.

He drank palm wine instead of imported gins. He dressed in African clothes.

Ojike married two wives and had 5 children.

Ojike died on November 29, 1956, aged just 42 at Parklane Hospital Enugu. He was believed to have been poisoned by enermies. He was buried the next day.

UPDATE ON OUR ROUTINE VISIT TO OUR INDEFATIGABLE CLIENT-ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE SECURITY(DSS)ABUJA, TODAY, THE 13TH DAY OF JANUARY, 2022.

We undertook our customary visit to Onyendu in DSS custody today. In the course of the visit, our discussions focused primarily on our final preparations for the legal battle that would resume on the turf of the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, from next week and on subsequent adjourned dates, if any.

We coalesced the product of our individual reflections on the most potent legal strategies henceforth to be adopted, fine tuned and harmonised them, and then distilled them into a single, conclusive, potent, workable formula. We are optimistic that the court outings of Onyendu would be impressive. Onyendu himself is in high spirit. Our discussions with him further reassured him and strengthened his determination to persevere unrelentingly. I declare to you, UMUCHINEKE, that Onyendu is fully prepared to appear in court as from the 18th of January, 2022. He is rooting for victory and knows that, with the help of ChukwuokikeAbiama, victory is assured.
You will all behold with your eyes an interesting dimension in the harmonised workable formula we have evolved. The detractors of Onyendu will be comprehensively humbled and permanently put to shame.
Further, Onyendu utilized the opportunity afforded by our visit to mandate us to admonish his teeming supporters and followers. He advises those of them that would appear in court in demonstration of their unflinching support and loyalty to him to conduct themselves with decorum, be civil in their conduct and comportment, shun violence and deviant behaviour in any manner or form, and exercise restraint in speech.
On our part, we have caused formal correspondences to issue on responsible, sovereign, democratic Governments and other international institutions to prevail on the Nigerian Government to caution uncouth and overzealous security agents. We can authoritatively declare to you, UMUCHINEKE, that those correspondences are receiving the requisite attention they deserve. We are optimistic that there would be a positive transformation in the conduct and general approach of the said overzealous security agents at the next appearance of Onyendu in court.
We make bold to state for the umpteenth time that Onyendu has not committed any offence known to law. For this reason, he must be released unconditionally.
We specially appeal to you, UMUCHINEKE, to demonstrate profound understanding and fortitude in these trying times. You must remain focused, dogged, and resilient. On no account must your untiring spirit be shaken and your resolve diluted. You must keep the peace at all times and comport yourselves with decorum.
