5. Check again the taste. It's also important not to overcook the eggplants.
6. Turn off the heat when the taste is to your liking.

Let's cook a savory Beef Rendang, SARAPlicious recipe.

The word rendang is a meat-based dish that is slow-cooked in coconut milk, and seasoned with a spice mixture for several hours. In our recipe, it took four hours to produce a really tender beef with a very rich flavor.

*Procedure:
1. Make the spice mixture.
2. Braise the beef lightly and set it aside.
3. Sauté ginger, and lemongrass stalks and mix in the spice mixture.
4. Combine the beef. Add the sugar, coconut milk, and kaffir lime leaves. Let it simmer.
5. Taste and adjust by adding more chili flakes and powder and fish sauce. You can add red chilies as preferred.
6. Check if the beef is tender. When the desired result is reached, turn off the heat.
7. Serve with steamed rice. Enjoy!

It is my first try to bake this and I'm happy with the result. It may be a little too sweet for your moms but you can adjust the level of sweetness. This is best paired with coffee or tea.

1. Prepare the crust. Bake at 180C for 20 minutes.
2. After baking, let it cool.
3. Make the lemon filling. Adjust the sugar to a half cup if you prefer not too sweet.
4. Pour over the cooled crust. Bake at 180C for 35-40 minutes.
5. Let it cool at room temperature for an hour then refrigerate it for another hour.
6. After an hour, remove it from the refrigerator and cut it into squares.
7. Dust it with confectioner's sugar.
8. Serve with coffee or tea. Enjoy!

This is a packed rice dish topped with seasoned shredded chicken wrapped in banana leaves, popular among Filipino Muslim households. I'm curious about the taste so I bought it - it's spicy and delicious, and the chicken is finely shredded. This time, I'm recreating my own version.

5. Check the taste and adjust according to your preference.
6. Turn off the heat to cool down when it's done.

It's been a while since we cooked a pork dish. Today, I will be sharing our version of Pork Estofado Recipe.

Estofado came from the Spanish estofar which means "stew". This is similar to the Philippine adobo wherein the pork is cooked in soy sauce and vinegar but this dish adds fried plantains and carrots.

6. When the pork is fork-tender, add the carrots. Cover to cook.
7. Add the fried saba bananas. Mix then turn off the heat.

We harvested saba bananas from our tree so we thought of Making Banana Chips at Home.

There are so many ways to do with saba bananas. This is the first time we have used it with the unripe ones.

Let's have one of my favorites, the Sinaing na Tulingan Recipe.

I discovered this dish when we visited my grandma's Batangas house. I learned to love it and after our Sunday church, one of the vendors outside would be selling this and I would definitely buy it.

*Procedure:
1. Clean the tulingan and remove the tail; some say this is poisonous.
2. Make a slit at the center on both sides and soak in water for 15 minutes to remove any blood.
3. Drain well then flatten it by pressing with your hand.
4. Rub salt on the fish and wrap it in a banana leaf.
5. For layering in a pot: put banana leaves, place the pork belly, then the dried kamias, followed by the fish arranged in alternating positions, more salt, dried kamias, vinegar then the water to cover the fish.
6. Cook for 4 hours under low heat.
7. Serve with steamed rice. Enjoy!

*2 eggs
*a bunch of Bok Choi
*cheese and sesame seeds for garnishing

We did a lot of recipes from the lechon last holidays and this is the first time we're cooking Lechon Sisig | Leftover Lechon Recipe.

One of the easiest ways to cook leftover lechon is to make it sisig. You have the option to put mayonnaise to make it more creamy. In our recipe, even without the mayo, it is still delicious and savory.

Aside from the leftover lechon, we still have cheese, so we made this - Queso de Bola Spread, SARAPlicious!

This is very easy to prepare. You can spread it on your bread, pandesal, or crackers as desired. I did not measure the ingredients, relied on my palate, and adjusted accordingly.
