Lindy and I celebrated 5 years of marriage last weekend. We had an exciting sushi celebration thanks to the assassination attempt happening right before it. We spent dinner processing the event, the world, and our time as husband and wife over five years, a fitting way to spend an anniversary after all the chaos in the world since our wedding day. Even with the craziness the good far outweigh the bad.

Getting married to Lindy altered the trajectory of my life in amazing ways. She never tries to change me, but I always want to grow for her. She’s more patient and loving than I deserve and I can’t wait for the next five years.

For much of this year, my alarm clock felt like the bell ringing for the next round of a boxing match. Battling the world’s cynicism around being new parents, running a business, and life in general can be hard no matter how much you delete social media.

Still, as the year comes to a close, I can look back and see many moments that were a wink and nod from God - Presley was born on my birthday, the dogs are so gentle with Presley, our friends have had babies and loved our baby like their own, we got to stay in our dream neighborhood and walk to get coffee every day when we were between homes for a month, and work brought me places and projects I thought I’d have to wait a decade for.

Thanks to all who helped guide us this year, we love you! Here’s to rejecting cynicism, doing hard things with a smile, and believing your best is yet to come in 2023.

Spent the last 3 days with some truly special people. , their team, and my fellow SB Guides have become family and done so much to help me grow a business that I love.

A lot of fun things have happened since I became StoryBrand Certified, but none of those things would have happened if hadn’t cheered me on and encouraged me to go for it (which took major bravery since my early entrepreneurial pursuits weren’t exactly paying the bills). She allowed me to follow my calling and having her by my side made the lows less scary and the highs even sweeter.

Had a great time last week getting in the weeds with home service providers at the Responsicon convention. We evaluated sales funnels, used the Storybrand framework to write video scripts structure email campaigns, and create one liners.

Biggest takeaway: It doesn’t matter if you scrub toilets, clean gutters, or soft wash homes, it’s possible to have a dynamic marketing message that works!
