is one of the most unique talents I’ve met. He will get to you fast too. He went from “who the heck is this guy” to “ I hope Mylez is there” within a course of one month of being in my life. The level of skill this man brings to the table. Good luck firing straight at him, you gonna miss and get sprayed with a Gatling of lyricism.
Taken by this is called Passing The Torch. It is no secret how well has elevated the vibe Open Mic’s on Wednesdays. It was an honor cohosting my last show (for a while) with him on 5.29.24. We had 40 people sign up for an Open Mic and got to 30 of them. He took the lead halfway through the show and never looked back, DJ mixer and all! Pool Party June 1st
is one of the most multitalented artists I have come across in my PHX music experience so far. This photo of his amazing performance on 5.18.24 is from .e.daise, an amazing artist and photographer. top tier human being, and supporter in the community. This was the 2nd Frequency Move Spotlight and it was all the vibe. I met Wyntrrs when I was hosting a pop-up DJ event and our mutual friend was performing. Once I started listening to his music I immediately wanted to connect him with our friend because they were a great fit to work together for a collaboration show called 2x3. Over the course of time that led to him and I working on a couple tracks together. And now, here we are. I don’t know how to express how amazing it is that we were able to listen to my friend’s new album right before he performed for an hour live for all of us. Thank you for an incredibly memorable night.
Frequency Moves has been hosting open mics and various forms of shows at Meraki for the better part of last year and a half. It has been an honor and dream come true to be part of the PHX music and arts scene. We have the gift of such a talented group of artists in this city and the fortune of developing a cooperative culture as community platforms have emerged. Please come celebrate my farewell show at Meraki as we uplift the community further by having a city wide invite open mic and networking event.

She supports everyone, ran an amazing open mic herself in 2023 and on top of all that is a dope singer song writer…..Oh yeah, and she’s a poetry contender in the valley too. OK enough bragging about how awesome I think Liz is. She took second place at the March 555 at . Catch her all around town!

The entrance room is majestic. It is full of colors, florals, inviting furniture and a giant leaf wall that provides great pictures. But this room means more to me than a lot of people know. When they very first opened we jokingly called this Steve’s room cause I would just sit in there and play guitar or work on music. It even had a white nail salon desk lol. Now it’s where the tattoos vendors and massages hang out during events and many people relax there on a daily basis. Why share? I’m finding time to respect where I’ve been.
With my feet on the ground (humble) AND my head in the clouds (confident) I am ready to start my ascension into the better me.

Did you know that they told Mike Shenandoah of Linkin Park you should probably take the rapping out of the band? They said it was more of a rock band anyway and he should just be a keyboard player. So yes, I grew up having this tape of JAY Z and the CD of The Weeknd in the same collection. The city is mine is one of my favorite Jay Z songs and I love Blackstreet. The Weeknd’s trilogy album was expressing the pain of postmodernism and romanticism, mixed with drug use before anyone even knew Juice WRLD was. No disrespect Juice WRLD.
Anyways, I digress just be you I fu***ng love you, even if you’re the sh*ttiest singer I know or the most talented in the room. Authenticity trumps talent. People want to relate again, communicate again and let the elevation begin.
Reconfiguring and consolidating the experience has always been one of my favorite ways to create a new path. Prune the unnecessary and nurture what you can grow. What happens to the natural pruning of a plant? My thought - it adds to the chemistry of the soil underneath the plant.
Here is another hometown hero that just absolutely has my respect and love. , as I’ve said in a previous post, always comes through. No not even like just he is on time or performs well, he projects the purest light. You wanna be in the presence of someone who is genuine and humble you found your new favorite artist. It all started with Cheshire Cat rug . Kiss designs any rug any style, her artistic ability on point and her craft is real. came across her when she was invited by Tracy to be a vendor at one of my competitive mic shows. Since then, my relationship with her and Andres has just continued to develop and develop. Enough backstory, the shout out is for for being a community leader. She is reinvigorating old town, Glendale, the spot where the major balloon glow used to be, an event that I happened to be incredibly fond of. Kiss now runs a night market on that exact street monthly and I had the honor of opening the first one and participating in the second one with her as the DJ. She is family oriented driven, and a community builder. Please go check out the Glendale night market monthly.
That’s actually not the stage glowing it’s just . When I met him the first time at little did I know where we’d both be almost two years later. He is a true inspiration to me. The heart of a king, the kind of king that puts people first. That’s why he is the president of , and that is why the community has nothing but love and respect for him. The man transmutes the pain into love and gain. Take a look for yourself or even take a page from his book and evolve with every challenge. Pretty damn close to Goku in real life if you ask me.

Because every Wednesday they have opened their doors for the artist. 1st Wednesday of the month is poetry open mic, the middle two Wednesdays are musical open mics and the final Wednesday of the month is special. hosts a competitive mic or curates a themed show. than you for being the first person to care enough to teach me on the production side. One day sitting in Kavasutra I was talking about all the rapping we do but no one makes beats. Matt nonchalantly turned his head and said, “I make beats.” Yeah it started right then. He’s dope too. This is one of the first 5 times at my house making music. Look at the crate mic setup lol. Who tf cares you gotta start somewhere! is a very versatile artist and a human with tons of vision. In fact I would never have known about opening of it weren’t for him. I had no idea the amazing relationships I was about to build. Crazy how one conversation with Luis about a Kava bar opening near me started an adventure. For another time, the story of meeting Meraki’s owners is one full of wonderful first impressions and gratitude.
We been goin’ for a minute now, extra hot summer down. And it goes back well before this too (you can ask Bobby he’s been grinding since ‘18). Shout out to for always creating space for community and new connections. Shout out for being a sleeping giant in this music scene and one of the purest souls I know. Shout out to for bringing his vibe and support to the scene. His kid sister is already a superstar too you just don’t know. is everywhere supporting everyone while working his ass off too as one of the top live performing rappers in the valley. for setting up an amazing vibe that night. Also I think is chillin on the couch by the pool table. I got stories all the way back to 2020. Time to start sharing.
