Nothing to see here ~ just a couple of bandits with their duck necks

It took me awhile to teach these two how to hold an object. They weren't too mad holding duck necks though for this picture.

Duck necks are considered raw meaty bones. I love giving them duck necks as they are great for teeth cleaning, exercising jaws, and mental stimulation.

IT'S FRIDAY 🥳

I now know why people say TGIF because thanks goodness it's Friday. It's been a busy work week for me and I'm so excited to chill this weekend. Who else gets excited for chill weekends?

Hazel is very concerned about something...

Hope everyone is staying cool this summer! It's Orbit's first summer with us and I was very worried I wouldn't be able to stimulate that border brain of his. I had to move my schedule around and find ways where we can still work on agility even if it's inside. I think we figured out a system so far.

With summer in full swing here, we escaped to the beach 🏖️

It was Orbit's first time at the beach and he enjoyed himself very much. As long as we get to play, he's game for anything. Hazel isn't much of a beach gal and she actually preferred sitting on the patio people + dog watching with the nice shady breeze.

Dog dad and I had a great time cooling off in the ocean and eating all the foods.

Checking off one of our summer bucket list items ~ showing Orbit how to swim! Toys in water are extra exciting and gives him a huge adrenaline rush. I've only taken him to the pool a couple of times and he's already getting the hang of it 🤙🏼

Can you tell who is a mama's boy

It was a bit challenging in the beginning to train Orbit because I was so used to training Hazel a certain way. Because they are so different, I found myself using entirely different methods and approaches. Even though I dabbled in agility and disc with Hazel, I feel like I'm re-learning these dog sports with a whole new perspective. This humbling experience has helped me grow into a better dog handler.

Happy Tuesday! Hope y'all had a good Memorial day weekend ☀️
In case you didn't know, Hazel and Orbit's health is very important to me. I like to keep track of what treats/chews I'm feeding them so they can maintain a good body weight and avoid any health issues in the future.
One brand I constantly keep going back to is ! I love how they are very transparent about their sourcing. I also don't have to worry about their ingredients because they only offer single-ingredient and unprocessed food for dogs (or cats!). We've tried so many of their treats and chews ~ our favorites are the chicken necks and pork loin.

Life got a little busy and I haven't had a chance to go out and take photos. Yesterday was a beautiful day here and I decided to take my camera out to take some pics.

Nothing fancy or special, just missed taking photos, editing, and getting creative. Anyone else get in a creative rut sometimes?

Hello, this is Orbit 🪐💫

Orbit is a lot of firsts for me – my first time raising a puppy, my first male dog, my first sport pup, and my first foster fail.

We adopted him from . All we know about his backstory is a breeder from West Texas dumped him and his siblings at a shelter. He among his siblings were then being fostered by volunteers from which we were one of them!

Fun fact: the shelter thought Orbit was a girl (shelter name: Emerald) which is why I chose him in the first place. It wasn't until on the drive to pick him up, the transports confirmed he is actually a boy. Obviously, that didn't stop us.

We will be training mainly in agility and disc (because that's all I have time for and can afford, ha). If you're into dog sports, you know what I mean 😅

Hello, it's me ~ Aimee. I'm Hazel and Orbit's mama, primary handler, and the person behind this account. I thought I'd finally share more about myself. I'm a dog mama who loves being super active with her pups whether it's training, hiking, agility or playing frisbee. It gives me life taking care of them and watching them learn, grow, and living their best life with dog dad and I. This is our account to document training of two very different dogs.

Dog dad and I are also into photography (I prefer editing while dog dad captures these precious moments) but we're always learning!

Going from one dog to two ✌🏼

The biggest challenge for me in getting a second dog wasn't the puppy raising, potty training, or general obedience training – it was actually adjusting from a single dog household to a multi-dog household. Our dynamic, schedule, and routine changed when we added Orbit which honestly, disrupted our lives a bit. Orbit required more attention. We were trying to figure out him while he was also figuring out us. The time and energy I usually spend with Hazel had to be split with Orbit (ahem, dog mom guilt).

Fast forward to today – we now have a new dynamic, schedule, and routine – one that works for all of us. I guess with any change, we learn to adjust. It took some time to figure out our new groove and a lot of it was reminding myself that each dog has their own different kind of needs.

I'm incredibly happy and grateful to have both dogs in my life. I can't imagine a world without them now. They both bring so much happiness to my life and while there will be bad days, the good days are so worth it.

Hope this helps anyone thinking about adding a second dog to their life 🖤

Someone waiting patiently for their red envelope 🧧🐰

Lunar New Year is this Sunday ~ a celebration of the New Year based on the lunar calendar 🌙 Typically, this calls for family celebrations, religious ceremonies honoring ancestors, traditions, and lots of superstitions. One of them being giving out red envelopes containing small amounts of money. Hazel and Orbit will be getting one with their favorite treats!
