Going to catch a couple 💤 after the drive from Minneapolis. Joplin will be our initial staging area; multiple good target areas within a few hours of here. Target will be determined after said 💤

GORILLA HAIL:

Chase mode activated tomorrow across the Southern Plains.

This will be a complicated chase.

Will likely either target renegade supercells along the Red River or perhaps stay further North and target supercells along the warm front that *may* have access to better low level shear for tornado production.

It’s been quite the winter storm in the Upper Midwest. A powerful system moved in late Saturday Night and hasn’t relented. Napoleon has really enjoyed this weather!

Highlights from my chase of Hurricane Idalia which made landfall on August 30, 2023 in the Big Bend region of Florida.

HURRICANE IDALIA DESTROYS HOUSE: Watch as our surge cam captures a house being destroyed by the storm surge of Hurricane Idalia which made landfall in Florida in 2023!

Now covering the winter side of the storm after covering tornadoes this morning in the Florida Panhandle. Currently just North of Springfield, MO. Roads are mostly clear here, heading to Minnesota overnight!

WATCH OUT FOR THAT WATER HAZARD: On our way to intercept a tornado in the Florida Panhandle early this am, we ran into a very large amount of standing water. Water is always one of the most dangerous aspects of storms!

INSANE WINDS FROM RFD!! Possible water spout slipping by. This was taken early this morning on the bridge between Gulf Breeze, Florida and Pensacola!

LIVE IN LAKE CHARLES, LA: Significant Tornado threat all along the Gulf Coast this afternoon, and then well into the overnight.
