After World War II, the Nurnberg was awarded to the Soviet Union and entered service in their navy as Admiral Makarov.

◾ She is armed with nine 6-inch (150mm) guns and two triple torpedo tubes.
◾ Attempting to prevent Prinz Eugen from going to the USSR, the US, UK, and USSR representatives drew lots from a hat. The US received Prinz Eugen, and the USSR got Nurnberg.
◾ In Russian service, she was renamed Admiral Makarov, in honor of the same commander we have in-game!
◾ She served as flagship of the 8th Fleet in 1948, until she was replaced by the Chapayev-class in the early 1950s.

⚓ VII Champagne

Champagne is a hypothetical design using a lightened Gascogne style-hull as a basis with six 406 mm/50 guns developed by the Schneider company in the 1930s.

◾ The Gascogne was a further development of the Richelieu design, Champagne is an even further leap.
◾ The guns were developed for the Soviet Union in the mid-30s under a mutual assistance treaty. The guns were never built, and the designs handed over in 1938.
When considering designs for the future, the French navy considered 406 mm guns, with Schneider’s as a contender.

👉 Champagne is the new Tier VII battleship in the Tall Glass of Victory campaign. Will you sail out in this sniping battleship?

Khabarovsk is based on the Project 47 Armored Destroyer Leader design, which itself was a post-war evolution of the Project 24 Destroyer leaders.

Calling for an excessive 45+ knot top speed, plus protection and heavy firepower for a destroyer, the designers were being asked for a miracle. Borrowing experience from Tank design, they decided the hull would have to be made from the armor plate. However, the project was ultimately terminated, though some influences carried on in the later Neustrashimy.

◾ Essentially, the Khabarovsk is about as close as you can get to a light cruiser while remaining a destroyer. No ships of this type were built or left the design stage, but Khabarovsk represents the end of the destroyer leader concept in Soviet doctrine.
◾ Khabarovsk is armed with eight 130mm guns in four twin turrets, upgraded versions of the Tashkent’s.
◾ Probably the closest ship to compare Khabarovsk to is the experimental light cruiser Yubari, which used similar construction methods to retain armor on a small displacement.

Khabarovsk is one of the new Legendary Tier Destroyers, representing the ultimate Soviet gunboat. Do you plan to research this ship?
