The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau hosted a media day on Friday, Jan. 17, at its offices in Manteo, showing and discussing all six episodes in its staggered-release new video series, "The Outer Edge."
The visitors bureau recently held premieres in Kill Devil Hills, Buxton and Manteo to show local audiences the videos showcasing local people and themes, from commercial fishing to boat-building to photography, before they are distributed to visitors via www.outerbanks.org/edge and YouTube.
Executive Director Lee Nettles said a total of 450 people attended these premieres.
As part of its Long-Range Tourism Management Plan, the visitors bureau is focused on responsible, sustainable tourism, including connecting visitors with area non-profits and places for a more meaningful experience.
"Really at its core, it's a celebration of the Outer Banks," Nettles said of the video series.

*OPINION* Stop and think! People don't go through all the work to get an amendment on a ballot for no reason. Especially when what they say they want is already being handled.
