Throughout its history, Dead Droid became known as one of the most cutting-edge labels in the industry by putting out albums such as “Rock Music: A Tribute To Weezer.” This album gained wide-spread critical praise throughout the industry and gained coverage on several media outlets such as MTV News. The album features Piebald, Dashboard Confessional, The Ataris, Further Seems Forever and other alt

ernative bands covering classic Weezer songs such as “My Name Is Jonas.”

Sadly, DDR became the target of a law suit by Star Wars creator George Lucas, who sued the company based on the use of the word “Droid.” Lucasfilm owns the trademark rights to the word and won a lawsuit that subsequently ended Dead Droid’s success as a record label.
