‼️ THEORY TIME ‼️

So paanong buhay si Sinag? Tinago siya ni Anton sa puno ng balete at nung dumating na kailangan nang patunayan ni Alex na siya ang susunod na lakan sinimulan na niya ang pagsubok sa puno ng balete na umabot ng 5 taon. Si Alex ang pumasok sa balete pero si Sinag ang lumabas or something like that I wouldn't know how they would do it, but it's a big possible plot twist. Mostly ganun naman talaga maiisip mo as writer kapag kambal ang characters mo.

How did I notice? Well sa last episode sa line ni Alex na "Hindi ako ang kapatid ko at hindi ako ang ama ko... Pero tunay akong Trese." sobrang vague at and daming notes between the lines.

Remember 2nd language natin ang English, so it makes sense na we are fluent and proficient sa pagsasalita nito. Can ya'll just stop making it a big deal na porke di naman siya talaga VA or pure Filipino, just shut up, enjoy and be proud.

Title: Everything Sucks! (2018)
Type: Netflix Original Series
Genre: Coming-of-age, Romance, Comedy

Synopsis: “It’s 1996 in a town called Boring, where high school students in the AV and drama clubs negotiate overwhelming emotions coming of age in the VHS era.”

Review: Just another high school movie that is actually played by teenagers (most of them), giving a modern touch to the 90’s aesthetics with art and sexuality. I don’t know I just liked it and it made me feel good and I believe that everyone should know.

I don’t know what to say really, I can’t seem to see things critically because I haven’t been in that headspace for a long time now which is surprising because before all I need to do is just have a massive breakdown for one night and I’ll wake up fu***ng fine but now all I have been is fu***ng emotional.

I mean who cares about them really. Just watch what you want, if you ever watch any of my recommendations thank you, but seriously just watch what you want, and that is what I have been doing. That’s why I am re-watching ‘Glee’ to make ammends to my lost childhood and my lost dream of being a theatre kid.

They cancelled this series which is a shame but it’s good, really, just watch.

Title: Malcolm & Marie (2021)
Type: Western Movie
Genre: Romance, Drama

Synopsis: “When filmmaker Malcolm and his girlfriend Marie, return home from a movie premiere and await his film’s critical response, the evening takes a turn as revelations about their relationship surface, testing the couple’s love.”

Review: There’s just something satisfying when a film feels like a cctv camera, raw and authentic. It is just one hell of a journey with this two, they’ll just f**k you up mentally and emotionally and you’re going to be okay with it.

This is not a review Malcolm would want but so is their relationship, it should be something simple until it’s not so there’s on that.

Title: ‘Justice’ (2021)
Artist: Justin Bieber

Top Picks: 4/16 Tracks
1. ‘As I Am’ ft. Khalid
2. ‘Off My Face’
3. ‘Unstable’ ft. Kid Laroi
4. ‘Ghost’

Review: I still believe in Pop Bieber supremacy. It has been 6 years since ‘Purpose’ was released and ever since that has been my favorite album, but I guess not anymore cause I have been playing ‘Justice’ on repeat for almost a month now and I thank god for it. The cohesion of each track’s lyrics and production made it a great story of love, loss, hope, and peace told by all these amazing artists in collaborative effort.

But what I love the most about this album is the state of mind it gives and the state of mind it was made, you can hear it and feel it too.

Title: Moxie (2021)
Type: Netflix Adaptation Movie
Genre: Coming-of-age, Comedy, Drama

Synopsis: Inspired by her mother’s rebelious past, Vivian decided to make an all-girl feminist zine not knowing it will unite people to uphold all the sexist occurence in their school.

Review: Your typical female revolution but done right for the issues of this generation for us to enjoy and educate. Really enjoyed it as an audiece, and even though I haven’t read the novel the screenplay was based on I believe the author was not dissapointed because I wasn’t.

Even though most people asked for a stronger, ‘a person of color’ protagonist, I believe that an average white girl being called out by people of different races and stands is still the message we kept on saying over and over that some people still chooses to ignore.

We as Asians, African-Americans, Latinos, etc we’ve already seen the movie that made us stand up for ourselves as humans, especially as women and this time it’s time for people, and girls like Vivian to have that fire so they can stop watching shows like ‘Riverdale’ and movies like ‘The Kissing Booth’, just saying.

Title: Basta Gagradweyt Tayo (2020)
Type: Filipino mini-series by Leighton Angcan
Genre: Coming-of-age, Thriller, Psychological

Synopsis: “When Airah hears that her ultimate crush can’t graduate, she immediately thinks of a plan to help him. This plan brings her to unravel the mystery behind the man she’s been admiring for long.”

Review: The plot is what lingers in the taste of this generation that’s why it is easy to like plus the way the actors portray their roles is commendable, promising direction and acting and for what its worth the production is quite impressive and you can see it from the stills, settings, grading and musical score. But what I appreciate the most from my experience watching this series is the play in perspective, it gave it the spice it needed to have that satisfying ending for the mind.

As an aspiring filmmaker myself you can totally see the inspiration and how our generation sees and interprets a story. This is what the future of Philippine Cinema will look like and I can’t wait for it and the moment we see our creations on bigger screens.

Title: Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love (2019)
Type: Filipino Movie by Jason Paul Laxamana
Genre: Romance, Drama, Coming-of-age

Synopsis: Five friends made a pact right after their college graduation to meet at the same spot after one year. They never thought that a year can do and change them so much.

Review: Well this isn’t as much as a love story as you might expect but it still tells our story and it’s something you would want to watch especially if you want to relate and educate your parents or maybe someone older on why our generation is way different that theirs.

The story of five friends shows the complexity of our career, sexuality, relationships and mental health and what nobody told us in this lifetime is how uknown and uncomfortable it is after graduation because we have to take different paths, it’s hard to be with our friends all the time now, we will be doing different things by this point and we actually have to figure things and ourselves on our own now.

I have been waiting for a Filipino made movie discussing all this issues and I think this somehow passed because it’s simple and straight to point that makes it easy to grasp.

Title: Metro Manila (2013)
Type: Filipino Movie directed by Sean Ellis
Genre: Thriller, Drama, Crime

Synopsis: Oscar, a struggling farmer, and his family decided to go live in the city and leave the province to see if they can change the way of their lives but it is not as easy either to be in Metro Manila.

Review: If you liked ‘Pamilya Ordinaryo’ you’ll loved this one, I mean I wasn’t even a fan of Pamilya Ordinaryo but this one right here is striking. From plot to acting and technical aspects, everything is firm and solid for audience to anticipate every scene.

I wasn’t expecting anything from it since I thought it was the same as every movie that tried to show the hardship of people living in the province and tried their chances in the city not knowing it was harder there. But the somehow plain storyline was turned into a heartening poem and it’s breath-taking.

It’s just the right amount of edge, wrench and inspiration.
