Cephas Azariah presents a track-by-track commentary of his stunning debut album ‘Joy Paradox’, delving deeper into the meaning behind each song and how they came into fruition. Drawing on the full spectrum of his influences, including neo-classical, ambient and cinematic, Cephas’ 12-track LP explores his personal story.
“This project is a summary of thirty years of life, and a realisation that you can’t have good things without sacrifice. Achieving success takes a certain level of suffering, and that’s the paradox of joy.” – Cephas

Today, Cephas Azariah shares his stunning debut album ‘Joy Paradox’ ☁️
Across 12 tracks, Cephas takes us on a journey through neo-classical and ambient music, seeking to resolve his own personal conflicts through music…
“This project is all about cultural intersections that repeatedly come up in my life. I often find myself at a crossroads, unsure of who I am; being at peace is difficult when you just don’t know where you fit. I’m brown, I live in the UK, I write a predominantly white genre of music. Then there’s my family background, Indian heritage, language – it all comes into it. The last couple of years have been a heck of a journey to get here: now I understand that I will constantly live at an intersection, and that’s okay. I can say now I’m totally at peace with myself and I hope you can relate to the songs and experience the same kind of peace too. From my heart to yours 🩵” – Cephas Azariah

Out today on Reflections, Mark Barrott’s poignant second single ‘Butterfly In A Jar (II-IV)’ from his upcoming album, ‘Everything Changes, Nothing Ends’ 🦋
‘Butterfly In A Jar (II-IV)’ reflects his experience at home during the weeks his wife was terminally ill, capturing the feelings of confinement.
“We had our personalities stripped away,” Mark says of that period. “You become a butterfly in a jar, but your normal life still has to happen. Cats still have to be fed; shopping still has to be done. We almost lost the ability to spend precious time alone.”
Arriving November 29, ‘Everything Changes, Nothing Ends’ is a profound and deeply personal exploration of life, love and loss. The album stands both as a tribute to Sara’s memory and a reflection of the impact that she had on Mark’s life and music.

Introducing ‘Faber / Faber Sanctum’: the new double A side from Cephas Azariah's upcoming album ‘Joy Paradox’ ☁️
Across these twin tracks, Cephas perfectly presents tension and release. First track ‘Faber’, features keys that build in intensity to recreate feelings of curiosity and eventual overwhelm, while ‘Faber Sanctum’ calms and soothes the listener.
“Whenever I travel somewhere new, I always visit a cathedral, and ‘Faber’ is about feeling awe from seeing it on the outside, and then coming inside and feeling overwhelmed, like I’m not supposed to be there. ‘Faber Sanctum’ represents the feeling of engaging with the beauty, and then you finally realise the sense of belonging.” – Cephas Azariah
