When you have a chronic condition, your own death may not be far from your thoughts. For those you love, it may be too hard to talk about. Allison and Sick Girl Speaks go boldly into the question of how to balance the reality of a chronic condition while being sensitive to those who love you. Should you keep questions and worries about dying to yourself? We know this sounds like a heavy topic but the pay-off comes in this week's episode when these two Friends explore how "death on your shoulder" truly makes love sweeter. Find Sick Girl Speaks & Friends on any podcast platform (Amazon, iTunes, Spotify etc), on this page or at sickgirlspeaks.com. Support the podcast on Patreon!

I feel really vulnerable, proud and a little bit anxious today. 3 new episodes of Sick Girl Speaks & Friends dropped this morning. One of them is a conversation with Elizabeth where we get really, really personal talking about intimacy with chronic illness. We thought long and hard about whether or not we wanted to actually share this podcast with the world but, ultimately, we decided if nobody is talking about this stuff that is precisely why we SHOULD share it. I hope you love all 3 episodes as much as we do but, mostly, I hope these conversations remind you that you are not alone. Listen on any podcast platform or at sickgirlspeaks.com

Sick Girl Speaks has cystic fibrosis and is the longest living second-double lung transplant patient on planet Earth (as far as we know). In April of 2020, Sick Girl Speaks went into acute kidney failure and she is currently on dialyis awaiting a donor kidney.

This Saturday, we drop 3 more Sick Girl Speaks & Friends episodes! A podcast about and Beth and Sick Girl Speaks talk about "Say What Now? And other questions about stupid things people say" well, right after a little song... Find us on any podcast platform or sickgirlspeaks.com. Psst: If you support us on Patreon, you would have access to this podcast already!

Y'all. I woke up this morning, opened my podcast app and found Sick Girl Speaks & Friends!!! I can't remember the last time I was so excited about something. Doing this podcast has meant so much to me. Not only because I get to say what's on my mind/heart with no filter but because it has given me the chance to have life-changing conversations with my amazing friends who are doing this with me. I have always known I had the best friends in the world but getting to talk to them in this way has just made me love and appreciate them even more.

I have already learned so much about myself, my friends and my faulty thoughts in these first episodes, I can only imagine how this will continue to grow and evolve. Thank you to each one of you for your support--this was a podcast born here, on this page, because of many of you and your encouragement and ideas. I have been working holidays, nights and weekends to get this up and running and I was thinking of you the whole time. I sincerely hope you like it and hope it's as meaningful for you to listen to as it was for us to make.

I don't know why am I am so lucky to have all of you supporting me, to have the Friends I have or to have the amazing love of my boyFriend but I am trying not to question it too much. I am still working on Project "Letting The Love In" but this podcast is one way I hope I show my love too.

If you want to know how you can help, please tell everyone you know about this podcast. Email, social media, phone trees, flyers on the front door, yell it from the mountain...whatever you can do to help spread the word is so appreciated. This is my personal passion project so it's not funded by my job etc and all costs come out of my wallet. Podcasts cost a lot of money each month to make and share so the more listeners we have, the more likely we are to be able to sustain over time.

If you want to know what to say on your social media, here is a sample:
