Sometimes friends and family have no idea how to converse with you about your new endeavors, let alone know how to support you.

In this episode, I’ll be discussing with Dom Wormley and Tykie Nelson from Talk to Me Podcast how you may not be getting the full support from friends or family members when starting a new endeavor. But are they obligated to support you? Can we set healthy boundaries and limit those expectations? Tune in, available on all streaming platforms! Make sure you rate and review :)

Make sure you find time for yourself during this stressful time. This can go as far as meditating, engaging with a non work hobby, or unplugging for an hour.

It’s easy to neglect taking good care of ourselves when we’re so busy, overwhelmed and even drained.

We’ve all been there, trust me.

Self care means you replenish yourself on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It goes a long way in helping us to better cope with everyday stresses. Take action to protect and improve your wellbeing.

This week, I interview on how she finds self care during this hectic time in our lives. She balances her work and personal life using some of her techniques and mindsets she shares in this episode.

Available on all streaming platforms, link in bio!

What is your version of self care? What do you find that relaxes you, makes you happy?

Don’t ignore something because it makes you feel uncomfortable. We all have a part to play and we cannot ignore injustice if any kind.

Speak Up.
Take Action.
Spread Awareness.
Stand Together.

I have privilege as a white person because I can do all of these things without thinking twice:

I can ask for help after being in a car crash ( and )
I can have a cellphone (StephonClark)
I can leave a party to get to safety (JordanEdwards)
I can play loud music (JordanDavis)
I can sell CDs (AltonSterling)
I can sleep (AiyanaJones)
I can walk from the corner store (MikeBrown)
I can play cops and robbers (TamirRice)
I can go to church (Charleston9)
I can walk home with Skittles (TrayvonMartin)
I can hold a hair brush while leaving my own bachelor party (SeanBell)
I can party on New Years (OscarGrant)
I can get a normal traffic ticket (SandraBland)
I can lawfully carry a weapon (PhilandoCastile)
I can break down on a public road with car problems (CoreyJones)
I can shop at Walmart (JohnCrawford)
I can have a disabled vehicle (TerrenceCrutcher)
I can read a book in my own car (KeithScott)
I can be a 10yr old walking with our grandfather ( )
I can decorate for a party ( )
I can ask a cop a question ( )
I can cash a check in peace ( )
I can take out my wallet ( )
I can run ( )
I can breathe ( )
I can live ( )
I CAN BE ARRESTED WITHOUT THE FEAR OF BEING MURDERED ( )
White privilege is real. Take a minute to consider a Black person’s experience today.

Get to know your host!

My name is Grace Oak and I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 with a Political Science Degree with a focus in law. However, after accepting that event coordination and management was my passion, I went back to school and received my certification in marketing and jumped into a career in events. I love traveling, attending events (as you can tell), reading, and honestly, anything that has the word "fun" and "adventurous" in the same sentence, I'm all in!

Navigating through my journey as a 27 year old, I came across a lot of challenges and obstacles, because, well... "life". We all have questions that we need answers to especially dealing with the most essential categories in life such as personal development, dating-relationships, finances, careers, etc. By using this platform, I'm able to help others find clarity and most importantly, help them to become the best version of themselves!

I created this podcast to pursue a passion dedicated to helping others find their own purpose with a "one of a kind" experience. I hope you all are just as excited as I am about this!

Hi everyone, and welcome to my page!
I created this podcast, One Of A Kind to help people navigate through their own journey in life with helpful advice, authenticity and connectivity by building stories with extraordinary people- the millennial way.

Throughout this podcast, people will be able to share their "one of a kind" experience and expert knowledge to provide some sort of direction for others in the best way possible!

I'm excited to share this journey with you all and thank you for your support! Stay tuned for weekly episodes coming June 2020!
