We’ve done a lot of trick training with Markus and initially I’ve thought a lot of the tricks were cute but useless. I’ve realized though that some can be pretty useful. In the last few weeks, we’ve used a lot of the basic commands such as sit, down and leave it, but some commands that we taught him as a trick has come in handy as well. I’ve used back (move backwards), head down and center to help direct Markus away from baby Carter. A lot of the other tricks have also been so good to distract him when he’s gotten too excited. I guess this should all be motivation for us to teach him a few more tricks and earn our expert trick dog title!
Have there been tricks that you thought was just cute but has come in handy?
