We don't get to see many DAF cars here in the UK so it was lovely to meet some of the members of last weekend on the campsite I was staying at for who were all happy to spend a moment talking to myself and about their cars and their adventures.

Not the best pic by all accounts but i couldn't contain my happiness. Never thought i'd see this moment after January 2022 when the rear suspension collapsed and the scrapyard seemed inevitable but here she is, 2.5 years and a lot of work from a lot of people later. The torsion beams and axle are refreshed thanks to mechanic Keith and who transported the new axle from Germany to the UK (shipping from the EU to UK wasn't an option, grumble grumble...). All the body rust is gone thanks to the efforts of and the paint match could not be better, Dave at DWS Auto Repairs has done an epic job of making her look like new. A lot of this wouldn't have been possible without Ian giving up his time and use of his Transit to tow the Megane on a trailer to various places. It's been a mega effort and to me, worth every penny.
A lot has changed in the time this car's been off the road and maybe this is a sign that things are getting better. This restoration has meant a lot. There's still a few smaller things left to do but it's now time to enjoy it. See you at Simply French and Rustival 2 with the Megane Classic in 2024.

Had a fantastic day today with and his MG ZR who've come all the way from Germany. Also the first show with the Megane since 2021 and since all the work to get it back on the road has taken place. 100% worth it imo, cars are more than just metal, glass, rubber and plastic.

A weekend of filming with the MG Car Club Zed Register and of course, some new content for Fuel Power Youtube. ✅ completed it. Good fun weekend, some was done at a peaceful campsite which i'll definitely use again, always love visiting the Cotswolds. Can't wait for my next visit or sharing what was filmed this weekend 😁

Delayed a little by yesterday's weather but we have one Millie the Mini back in with a fresh MOT for show season and Lady Liberté off for a new axle. Sometimes it's like living in the late 90s here with the mechanic having a 1989 VW LT Low Loader. Good luck Renault, see you next Saturday for stage 2 of the roadworthiness plan!

Who's giving their car a wash and ignoring the big problems? Well, me but actually i'm not ignoring anything. This is just the pre work bath for the Megane Classic as tomorrow, the serious work begins to revive the old family bus back to roadworthiness. Words cannot express how much i've missed this car and how excited I am for the plans and adventures I have going forward with it.

Here's to a new year, time to start fresh but before that, there is some housekeeping to do with the fleet! A new year's resolution of sorts! Of course the obvious for me is to get the Mégane Classic repaired and back on the road, get the C5 project completed after that's been pushed back, sort a little bit of bodywork out on Millie the Mini and of course, have some adventures with the fleet. It doesn't sound much but there's a lot to do! 😅 Videos will return to the Fuel Power YouTube channel some time in 2024.

2023, not the year I anticipated it being but there are highlights to be taken and here they are! From the 1000 mile drive around the UK in our 1.0 £1000 SEAT Arosa, Smart ForTwo and Daihatsu Sirion (raising £2000+ for charity in the process) to covering around 700 miles in Millie across snow covered Yorkshire Moors and various events and adventures with MG friends to events and days out. We also went to Gilks Garage Cafe and held our second FP event. Here's hoping for more motoring adventures in 2024. Have a great evening everyone!
