P.S. - Please Respect Nature . Don't be Human While Traveling . Listen to the music of Nature , not your Ugly Loud BoomBox . Drink Water, Eat Food but, Don't throw Plastic or any Waste around you . Use Bins. Fill your bottle with Nature Streams atleast when in high mountains and not keep buying packaged water. Lastly, don't travel just because you got money or your need to impress social media .

বিশ্বাসে মিলায় বস্তু। ( Scroll Down for English )

ছবি তে ঢিবির ওপর সারি সারি কাঠির মত গুঁজে সাজিয়ে রাখা জায়গাটা দেখলে কোনো ছোট্ট শিশুর কাণ্ড কারখানা বা সময় কাটানোর নিমিত্ত কারো দ্বারা খেলার ছলে নির্মিতমনে হতে পারে। কিন্তু এটি নিছক কলা প্রদর্শন এবং গুরুত্বহীন কোনো বস্তু না। এরম আকার আকৃতি সিকিমের জনগু অঞ্চলের জঙ্গলে দেখতে পাওয়া যায়। তাহলে জিনিসটি কি?
আসলে গ্রীষ্মকালের শুরুতে জঙ্গু সহ সিকিম ও উত্তর বঙ্গের নানা স্থানে শিলা বৃষ্টি হয়ে থাকে। কোথাও বেশি কোথাও কম। এই শিলাবৃষ্টি জিনিসটি সাধারণত দেখতে খুব সুন্দর লাগে এবং আমরা সবাই কম বেশি সবাই উৎসাহী থাকে । তাদের মধ্যে আমিও একজন🤪। আজও ওই বরফের টুকরো গুলো কুড়িয়ে বাটিতে রেখে আস্তে আস্তে গোলে যাওয়া দেখতে বেশ লাগে। কিন্তু ওই যে রূপ দেখে গুন বিচার করা অজ্ঞতা। এই শিলা বৃষ্টি হলে, বিশেষ করে খুব বেশি হলে নানান চাষের বিস্তর ক্ষতি হয়। জঙ্গুর লোকজন এই চাষের ওপর বেশি নির্ভরশীল । তাই তারা তাদের বিশ্বস্ত দেবতা কে এই ভাবে পুজো করে এবং প্রার্থনা করে যাতে সবাই সুস্থ থাকে এবং শিলাবৃষ্টি কম বা সম্পূর্ণ বিরত থাকে। এখানে সব চেয়ে লক্ষ্য করার বিষয়, প্রকৃতির সাথে মানুষের মেল বন্ধন ও সহাবস্থান । আরাধ্য আরাধনা সব ই এই জঙ্গল পাহাড় ও প্রকৃতি কে নিয়ে । সত্যি এই পাহাড়ি লোকেদের আছে অনেক কিছু শেখার আছে।

বিঃ দ্রঃ - এই তথ্য স্থানীয় মানুষদের থেকে পাওয়া। আমার নিজের কোনো রিসার্চের ভূমিকা নেই।

These weird looking series of sticks might look like did of some kids playing around the corner or some drunken game played by some adults. But this is a highlight of the faith of the Lepchas of Dzongu in North Sikkim. One can often notice such random structures in and around the forests of Dzongu. So again what it is really? We all know and like hailstorms. What not to like . Small pieces of Ice falling from the sky and creating a white sheet of Beauty ( when hails too much). But everything bthat Looks beautiful doesn't necessarily means it's good. Although how beautiful it looks they're not Good for the crops. It destroys the plants causing huge losses for farmers. Sikkim experiences lots of hailstorms during summer rains and people of Dzongu are hugely dependent on the Framing for their foods. So they pray to their deities like this, to convince them to control the hailstorms and protect them from it. This intrigued me I'm different way. It's amazing to see co existence of nature and human. How lives of these people are all about nature, even their deities. All they want is live and let all live.

চি (English at end of article👇🏾)- ওই ভম্বলাকার বদনের সামনে রাখা বৃহদাকার গ্লাস বা ক্ষুদ্রাকার ব্যারেল এ রাখা জিনিসটি আসলে উত্তর সিকিমের Dzongu র লেপচাদের এক স্থানীয় পানীয়। এটি মূলত মিলেট বা বাজরা দিয়ে তৈরি Wine । এটি সাধারণত নিজের বাড়িতেই নির্মাণ করা হয় । স্থানীয় মতে এটির উপকরণ কিছুটা সময় এবং শস্যের ফলনের ওপর নির্ভর । যেমন আর কিছুদিন পর গেলে শুধু বাজরা দিয়ে তৈরি পানীয়টি বাজরা র ছাড়াও গম ও এক রকম ফল যুক্ত হয়ে যাবে। এটি সাধারণ Red Wine র মতই খুব সামান্য মাদক সম্পন্ন।
বাজরার চি এর স্বাদ অসাধারণ লেগেছে আমার । এটি কোনো ফলের উপাদান নয় সেটা খেয়ে বোঝা খুব ই দুষ্কর। এটি খাওয়ার পদ্ধতি ও অন্য রকম। ওরা এটি মজুদ করে রাখে একটু শুকনো ভাবে। পান করার ১৫ মিন আগে পাত্রে ভরে তার ওপর গরম জল ঢেলে রাখা হয়। তারপর আস্তে আস্তে ওই বাঁশের স্ট্র দিয়ে আপন সময় নিয়ে ধীরে ধীরে পান করতে হয় এবং শেষ হলেই বার বার গরম জল ঢেলে যেতে হয়। এরম ভাবে সুন্দর স্বাদ পাওয়া বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে শেষ বলে ধরে নিতে হয়। এটি Tingvong র Homestay তে বিনা মূল্য উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছিল । বাকি জায়গায় বিনামূল্যে পাওয়া যাবে কিনা সেই গ্যারান্টি দেওয়া যাচ্ছে না। তবে আশা করছি মূল্য লাগলেও খুব সামান্য হবে। তাই পরের বার Dzongu গেলে এটি একবার খেয়ে দেখায় যায় যদি অ্যালকোহলিক পানীয় তে অ্যালার্জি না থাকে।

যদিও এটি তাদের স্থানীয় ঐতিহ্যগত পানীয় , তাদের মধ্যে সিকিম এর হিট বেশি পছন্দ করে । তবে একদম খায় না তা না। Homestay র কত্রীর কথা অনুযায়ী এটি তরল আকারে রূপান্তরিত করে কাজে যাওয়ার সময় নিয়ে যায় এবং দুপুরে চাষের কাজের অবকাশে সেবন করে থাকে।😊

বিঃ দ্রঃ - এটি লেপচা ছাড়াও নেপাল ও তিব্বত অঞ্চলের নানান লোকে সেবন করে। কিছু নাম - ছাং , টংবা ইত্যাদি। সিকিম নেপাল , উত্তর বঙ্গেও এটি পাওয়া যায়। যদিও স্বাদ ও অ্যালকোহল পার্সেন্টেজ আলাদা থাকতে পারে।

Chi - Chi is a traditional Light alcoholic drink of Lepchas of Dzongu North Sikkim. It's basically made of Millet and tastes fruity almost like other fruit based Wines. This is also made with Wheat along with Millet and a fruit. This is only made when Wheat is harvested. Yess they grows everything in their field . These are stored fermented dry and Hot water is water during consumption , initially it's kept idle with hot water for 15-20 mins before start consuming. These were offered free from my Homestay at Tingvong. I'm not sure about the free thing for other Homestays or villages of Dzongu. But even if it's charged , I don't think it would be too much.
If alcohol is not a restriction for anyone should try this atleast once. You won't regret for sure. You can find this at other places of Sikkim Nepal and Darjeeling as well with different names and may be slightly different taste and different alcohol content.
