**Central Bank announces new reward for SL migrant workers during festive season**

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) today announced that Sri Lankan migrant workers will receive an additional Rs. 10 for each US Dollar they convert into Rupees in December this year, through the Sri Lankan Banking System and other formal channels.

The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has decided to pay an incentive of Rs. 8.00 per US dollar for workers’ remittances, in addition to the existing incentive of Rs.2.00 under the “Incentive Scheme on Inward Workers’ Remittances”, when such funds are remitted through Licensed Banks (LBs) and other internationally accepted formal channels and converted into Sri Lankan rupees during the period from 01.12.2021 to 31.12.2021.

Accordingly, the total incentive for inward workers’ remittances converted into Sri Lankan rupees during the month of December 2021 will be Rs. 10.00 per US dollar.

The additional incentive provided by the CBSL is expected to attract more workers’ remittances to the country through the formal banking channels, thereby improving the foreign currency liquidity in the domestic foreign exchange market. At the same time, several measures are being taken by the CBSL and the law enforcement authorities to curtail informal fund transfer channels, which would, in turn, further encourage migrant workers to use formal channels to remit their hard-earned
foreign exchange to the benefit of their dependants.

Niluka Karunaratne got selected for Rio Olympics 2016 - Badminton.

Karunaratne, born in the coastal area of Galle, obtained his primary and secondary education in Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, and Royal College, Colombo. The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved China's Sinovac Covid vaccine for emergency use and it is the second Chinese vaccine that got approved after Sinopharm.

WHO has stated that "it prevented symptomatic disease in 51% of those vaccinated and prevented severe symptoms and hospitalization in 100% of samples", even though some evidence and data gaps are still lacking according to WHO experts.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to increase the number of teams playing in the 2027 and 2031 ODI Cricket World Cups to 14. Also, they are on a pending decision to increase the number of teams playing in the 20-20 Cricket World Cup to 20.

The ICC is carrying out several discussions about the future of the sport, including shortening of five-day Test matches to four days.

"රට තුළ පවතින ඇඳිරි නීතිය සහ COVID-19 පැතිරී යාමේ තත්වයන් හේතුවෙන් රෝගීන්ට ඔවුන්ගේ බෙහෙත් ලබා ගැනීමේ දුෂ්කරතාවන්ට මුහුණ පෑමට සිදුවේ. එබැවින් සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය සහ තැපැල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පොලිස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සහාය ඇතිව බෙහෙත් ඔවුන්ගේ දොරකඩට ගෙන ඒමේ වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කර තිබේ. ළඟම ඇති තැපැල් කාර්යාලයේ තැපැල් ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා සමඟ සන්නිවේදනය කිරීමට සහ පහත සඳහන් උපදෙස් පිළිපැදීමට අවශ්‍ය දේ කිරීමට ඔබට දන්වනු ලැබේ.

1. ඇඳිරි නීතිය සමය පුරාම ආයතන ප්‍රධානීන් ළඟම තැපැල් කාර්යාල ප්‍රධානියා සමඟ සම්බන්ධීකරණය කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා සිටියි. මාසයක් සඳහා ප්‍රමාණවත් වන බෙහෙත් ඔබේ රෝහලේ ලියාපදිංචි වී ඇති රෝගීන්ගේ ලිපිනයට ලබා දිය යුතුය. භාරදීමට පෙර ලිපිනය ඇමතීම සහ සත්‍යාපනය කිරීමෙන් දෝෂ අවම වේ.

2. නිවැරදි මාත්‍රාවෙන් නිවැරදි බෙහෙත නිවැරදි රෝගියාට ලබා දෙන බවට ආයතන ප්‍රධානියා සහතික විය යුතුය.

3. රෝගියාගේ නම, සායන අංකය, ලිපිනය සහ සම්බන්ධතා අංකය ඇසුරුමේ පැහැදිලිව ලිවිය යුතුය. කිසියම් පැහැදිලි කිරීමක් විමසීමට රෝහලේ නම, වගකිවයුතු පුද්ගලයෙකුගේ ජංගම දුරකථන අංකය (රෝහලේ pharmacist) සඳහන් කළ යුතුය.

4. ලබා නොදුන් පාර්සල් අදාළ රෝහල වෙත ආපසු ලබා දෙන ලෙස තැපැල් ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයාට දන්වන්න

5. රෝහල් අධිකාරිය විසින් සියළුම පාර්සල් වල විස්තර ඇතුළුව පිටපත් දෙකක් සහිත ලේඛනයක් සකස් කළ යුතු අතර බෙහෙත් පැකේජය සමඟ තැපැල් ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයාට භාර දිය යුතුය (සියලුම රෝගීන්ගේ නම, සායන අංකය සහ සම්බන්ධතා තොරතුරු ඇතුළත් විය යුතුය) එක් පිටපතක් තබා ගත හැකිය. තැපැල් කාර්යාලය මගින් බෙහෙත් පැකේජය ලැබුණු බවට සහතික කිරීමෙන් පසු රෝහල සමඟ බෙහෙත් පැකේජ රෝගීන්ට ලබා දෙන අතර තැපැල් ස්ථානාධිපති විසින් සම්පූර්ණ කළ යුතු දෙවන පිටපත අවසානයේදී රෝහල සහ තැපැල් කාර්යාලය යන දෙකම සම්පූර්ණ කරන ලද පත්රයේ පිටපත් ක්රියා පටිපාටිය අවසානයේ තබා ගත හැකිය.

6. තාපය හා ආලෝක සංවේදී සමහර බෙහෙත් පැකේජ තිබේ. එමනිසා, එම බෙහෙත් වල ගුණාත්මකභාවය පවත්වා ගැනීම සඳහා ඇසුරුම් කරන ලෙස ඔබෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.

7. තැපැල් කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයට වෛද්‍ය වෙස් මුහුණු, අත්වැසුම් සහ අත් සනීපාරක්ෂක සැපයීම සහතික කළ යුතුය.

8. මෙම කාල සීමාව තුළ පමණක් බෙහෙත් සමතුලිතතාවය සඳහා තොග ගිණුම්කරණ ක්‍රමයක් පවත්වා ගැනීමට ඉඩ දෙන්න.

9. බුද්ධි අංශ ප්‍රධානීන්ට අවශ්‍ය සංඛ්‍යා කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය තීරණය කර සාමාන්‍ය රාජකාරි වේලාවෙන් ඔබ්බට ගොස් ඔවුන්ගේ සේවය ලබා ගත හැකිය.

10. ආයතනයේ සියලුම ප්‍රධානීන් සුදුසු ඇසුරුම් ද්‍රව්‍ය ප්‍රමාණවත් බව සහතික කළ යුතුය

11. ලියාපදිංචි රෝහල වර්තමාන පදිංචිකරුවන්ගෙන් දුරස් නම්, කලින් රෝහල සමඟ සන්නිවේදනය කිරීමෙන් පසු එවැනි රෝගීන්ට බෙහෙත් සැපයීමට ළඟම ඇති රෝහල් අධිකාරියට හැකිය. මෙම ක්‍රියාවලිය ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා රෝගියා ඔවුන්ගේ සායනික පිටපත ඉදිරිපත් කළ යුතුය.

12. රෝහල් අධිකාරියට රෝගීන් පිළිබඳ නිවැරදි තොරතුරු නොමැති නම්, රෝහල් සම්බන්ධතා අංකය PHM, PHI සහ ග්‍රාම සේවක මගින් රෝගීන්ට සන්නිවේදනය කිරීමෙන් ඒවා ලබා ගත හැකිය.

13. මෙම ක්‍රියාවලිය සාර්ථකව ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සහතික කරන ලෙස සියලුම පළාත් අධ්‍යක්ෂවරුන්, සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා ප්‍රාදේශීය අධ්‍යක්ෂවරුන් සහ රේඛීය අමාත්‍යාංශ ආයතන ප්‍රධානීන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.

මෙම තීරණාත්මක අවස්ථාවෙහිදී මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියේ සාර්ථකත්වය සඳහා ඔබගේ කාරුණික සහයෝගය සහ සහාය මම අගය කරමි.

Central Province Health Services Director Dr. Arjuna Thilakaratne says that the first patient who contracted the first coronavirus in the Central Province was found from Thelambuwatta village in Akurana, Kandy.
Doctors have confirmed that he is from India and that he has been diagnosed with the disease. The patient has been admitted to the Kandy General Hospital (gender-male).

Dr. Arjuna Thilakaratne has told media that the health authorities are carrying out further operations.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic continues to unfold, Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he has reached an agreement with International Olympic Committee, President Thomas Bach, to postpone the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games for about one year until next summer and IOC also had agreed 100% with the plan. No Olympics has ever been rescheduled before, and the only cancellations have happened in wartime.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐰𝐨: " Less sore throat, cough & headache (thank God!), still no shortness of breath or pleuritic chest pain."

He said: "I am on ibuprofen and Tylenol [paracetamol], drinking lots of water and doing some push-ups every day. I'm doing fine."

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞: "No sore throat/headache. Yesterday was cough day, still no shortness of breath/chest pain. Diarrhea started, the lucky cough got better."

He said he expected his symptoms to 'completely resolve by tomorrow or the day after'.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫: "More cough & tiredness (very badly), still no dyspnea/chest pain."

The doctor added he was feeling 'awfully tired' by Thursday - four days after his diagnosis.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞: In his latest update, he wrote: "Less cough & tired, still no dyspnea/chest pain."
