"The journey to decriminalisation of same-sex relations was long and arduous, commencing around 2010 when the first case of HIV was recorded. It was driven by civil society organisations (CSOs) dedicated to the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and human rights.

These advocacy efforts were widespread and took place over several years, spearheaded by the Cook Islands Family Welfare Association and driven by Te Tiare Association and Pride Cook Islands."

The Mama T’s talk to Angeline Heine Reimers, President of the Kora In Okrane (KIO) Club. This women’s club from the Marshall Islands have helped their country become the second country in the world to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of "clean water for all.”

They also chat with Karla Eggleton, President of Pride Cook Islands about the journey to decriminalising homosexuality and Stanley Simpson veteran Fijian journalist and Fiji Media Association, General Secretary talks about media censorship and their path to repealing the Media Industry Development Act (MIDA).
