For my final story at FOX56 - I shared an incredible, personal story about how one Kentucky community helped me not lose hope.
I lost a family heirloom almost a year ago while saving my puppy. She fell through thin ice and started drowning, but I was able to pull her out in time. Unfortunately, I lost a ring that had been in my family for 113 years!
My Aunt Denise Hansen had just given it to me as a Christmas gift and told me itâs meant to be past down to every great grand-daughter.
Refusing to give up, I found a community of Kentucky ring finders and it led me to Mike Blankenship - who just found the ring on Sunday!!!
Hereâs the full story and my farewell to the Bluegrass!!
Excited to start the next chapter of my career, but I couldnât have gotten to where Iâm going without this amazing team! I will miss you Kentucky!
đ¨ This is a notice to victims of domestic violence to make sure your burner phones or any hidden devices are TURNED OFF âźď¸ before the national alert test sounds off at 2:20pm EST TODAY!!
Every 3 years, FEMA & the FCC pings cell phones, TVs, radios, and other wireless devices across the nation to test their emergency management capabilities for sending out amber alerts, golden alerts, weather alerts, and more.
While this test is for safety purposes, it could potentially be unsafe for victims at home when these alerts go off.
For Kentuckians, the alerts are expected to go off around 2:20 pm EST â° so if youâre in an unsafe situation, make sure your devices are powered off before then.

Myles Cosgrove hired as Deputy Sheriff.
The former, Louisville police officer who is known to deliver the fatal shot to Breonna Taylor has a new badge. The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council deemed Myles Cosgrove to have responded properly in returning gunfire that night, and that's why he's kept his police certification and was never criminally charged. He's now been hired on as the Deputy in Carroll County, and it sparked protests.
BODY CAM FOOTAGE RELEASED FROM LOUISVILLEâS MASS SHOOTING MONDAY: Watching this footage will show you how fast everything happened at a Louisville bank mass shooting. The shooting lasted less than 9 minutes, and the fear in that situation made those 9 minutes feel like an eternity, even just watching it. So I canât imagine how these Louisville officers must have felt.
Released Tuesday afternoon by @lmpd.ky - youâll see the bravery of Officers Hilt & Galloway who ran towards gun fire. Hilt was shot, and Galloway shot and killed the gunman, all while saving lives. Yesterdayâs mass shooting at a downtown bank marks the 6th in Kentuckyâs history, and 15th in the U.S. to date this year.
Thankful đ Couldnât have asked for a more perfect story to report on for Thanksgiving. This story was about a pub owner who turns his bar into a home and welcomes anyone from the community in with a free, Thanksgiving dinner. Heâs been doing it for almost 20 years, and says, âitâs the highlight of his year.â
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! đŚ

Wildfire coverage coming to you from Ravenna, where between 200-300 acres have burned overnight. I spoke with Kentuckyâs Department of Forestry about the steps theyâve taken to ensure homes and businesses donât get destroyed by more fires tonight. This report coming up FOX 56 News at 6:30 pm, 7pm, & 10pm.
âRUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS;â Thatâs what one Eastern Kentucky woman told me she felt like after sharing thatâs she applied for FEMA aid 15 times.
I met Nadine Haynes back in August when she had just started to apply for disaster aid after the deadly floods struck.
FEMA recently reported that they spent $124.5 million dollars in housing assistance, small businesses, flood insurance and more, yet somehow, there are still flood victims like Haynes who are still trying to get help with repairing damages to her home. Sheâs not able to live at her house right now bc the mold has built up so badly.
What more can these flood victims do, besides hope for the best⌠and waitâŚ

Today is my one year with FOX 56 News đââď¸ and Iâd like to share this news report I just did.
đżAs many of you heard, President Biden has just pardoned over 6000 Americans nationwide with a single, Marijuana possession felony. So what does this mean for Kentuckians?
đżWhile cannabis is still illegal in the state of Kentucky - this pardon could have implications at the state level. I spoke with a political analyst and a Cannabis reform activist about how governors, like our own Governor Beshear, are now faced with a decision to pardon thousands of felonies at the state level.

Hurricane Ian- a storm Tampa has not seen the size of in 100 years- is about to make landfall, but one Kentucky American Red Cross worker told me she has yet to see evacuees from Tampa at a shelter in Leesberg.
Governor Beshear authorized our KY National Guard to deploy 17 troops by Thursday morning at the latest.
Hear a first hand account of what itâs like on the grounds in Florida in this news report.

I was 10 years old when this man behind me made headlines for the shooting at a West Paducah High School here in Kentucky. Itâs been 25 years, and bc he was sentenced as a minor at the time, heâs eligible for parole and made his case for it Tuesday.
The Kentucky Parole Board did not reach a unanimous decision and will deliberate again on Monday to either grant his request or have him serve out his life sentence.
Michael Carneal, the shooter, suffered from undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenia in 1997- but fast forward to today, youâll hear him say he still hears voices, but believes he can do good in society. His surviving victims and family members of victims believes the path to justice is for him to stay behind bars.
What do you think should happen for Carnealâs parole?

EASTERN KY COVERAGE- one week later. Tetanus shots are essential for flood victims to get right now as theyâre entering the recovery/re-build phase. The waters were contaminated with metals and sewage, and even after drying, the bacteria becomes airborne. One clinic in Breathitt Co is waiving all charges so people donât have to pay for their shot or any other doctors visit. #easternkentucky #easternkyfloodrelief #floodrelief #reporterlife
EASTERN KY FLOOD COVERAGE- Knott County Schools were supposed to start August 10th, but now, thereâs no telling when or where the elementary students will be able to redirect to as many of the school facilities have been compromised.
Cleaning supplies, toiletries, and water donations are desperately needed to help the schools out. If you can help, DM me.
