Hello readers!
It has been quite a while since The Falconer has brought to you a literary activity. We thought what better way to interact with our fellow readers than to get the chance to read your stories? So we present, our second Short Story Competition! this time our team has thought of prompts for you but we have kept them as open to interpretation as possible. We want to see how our ideas translate into your stories. You can find the prompts and some general guidelines in the slides and, what's in it for the winner, you ask?
The winning short story will be published in the upcoming issue of the magazine and also featured on our social media.
We can't wait to read your stories!

Stepping inside the proverbial ballroom of creativity, one may, quite often, tumble upon a verse and a visual submerged together in an artistic waltz, away from the prying eyes of the wider assembly; and not without a single foot each extended into a world of imagination and possibilities.

One may find the two completely engrossed in each other, and proceed to confess to themselves that this, at its very core, is how an artist’s life has always played out — a classic merger of paint and poesy.

Then may one proceed to truly recognise the importance of a group of individuals dedicated to design and aesthetics in putting together a magazine representing all that is literary — and send out application forms in a bid to procure the best ones immediately.

The Falconer aims to create a space that appreciates individual expression and what better way to express one's self than the poetic outpours that flow from the depths of one's heart.
We aspire to bring you an anthology of poems in the form of the Annual Poetry Collective which holds treasured pieces from the students, teachers and alumni of the English department alike.

The Falconer is active again for the session of 2023!

The magazine's primary aim has always been to bridge the gap between thought and its expression and it wishes to continue striving towards that very objective in the future.

Our journey up until now has been made possible through the tireless efforts of The Falconer team and the much appreciated participation from the student body and faculty of the English Department alike.

We hope to see further literary contributions from our readers and wish to make the most out of the year ahead of us!
