What a privilege it was for us to take over 1200 TCS Sydney Marathon runners through our Marathon State of Mind course this year.

When we were developing MSOM, our biggest hope was that everyday people would have the opportunity to develop the mental skills required to confidently do hard things and enjoy the experience of exploring their potential.

We are incredibly grateful to Wayne Larden and the TCS Sydney Marathon team for sharing our vision and investing in the mental well-being of their runners, enabling us to offer the course free of charge to all Sydney Marathon participants.

This week, and throughout the six weeks of the course, we've received amazing and humbling feedback from people who have learned to train their minds like they train their bodies. People who have become their own inner coach, understood the power of being present, and embraced the art of leaning into discomfort. People who became so clear about their purpose for running that no challenge felt too great to overcome.

To all of you, it is a true pleasure to be part of your Sydney Marathon experience. Like you, we are already thinking about next year. It’s only going to get bigger and better.

Exciting times ahead!

Something I wish I had sooner...

Because exploring your potential isn't easy.

There will be ups and downs, opportunities and challenges.

To thrive on this journey, we need our minds to work for us, not against us.

Your mind can be your greatest asset.

But it takes training, guidance and support to optimise our mental game.

If you're driven to see what could be possible for you, and want to train your mind like you train your body, then our MSOM mentorship could be for you.

Spots limited but open to athletes of all ages.

We'd love to be on your team.

Brilliant news! Exciting times ahead in Sydney 👏🏽

Are you ready for some exciting news, Australia?

Sydney is well on its way to becoming the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major.

The Sydney Marathon has successfully passed stage one and is now advancing to the final stage of its candidacy. If it meets all criteria again in 2024, Sydney will join the prestigious ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors in 2025.

We acknowledge operational aspects of the event need improvement, rest assured that our dedicated team is actively addressing these in collaboration with Government agencies. Anticipate big announcements, including course changes, start times and enhanced facilities such as improved access to toilets, water stations, and more. If you're thinking about it, we're already on it.

A heartfelt thank you to the tens of thousands of runners who have propelled us to become Australia's largest and premier marathon. We’ve got one year to go, and we're inviting everyone to rally behind us for the 2024 event as we aim to bring this one home.

This is our moment, our legacy. Let's make history once again. Let's make the Majors.

Cannot wait to watch this one!
Jessica Fox is such an inspiration and we were fortunate enough to speak with her in episode 23 of the podcast.

14/12/2021

The day before the Melbourne Marathon Festival we put our computer on a box of rice bubbles and hit record on a podcast to discuss what lay ahead. The following day we hit record again to reflect on the experience and capture the highs, the lows and the learnings (as our mate Brad Beer would say). We combined the recordings into a new episode, which is out now.

It was great that speak with Jessica Fox - Canoe Slalom Athlete. Jess is the most successful individual slalom canoeist of all time. She is an 8 time world champion, and now an Olympic champion. All of this at just 27 years of age.
Jess’ mindset is truly world class. She’s a fierce competitor and thrives on challenges, but brings real joy and humanity to the process. In this conversation, Jess unpacks how she has learned to use her mind to bounce back from disappointments, rise to the occasion and continually improve as she explores her potential. Eloise Wellings Spectacular in Marathon Debut 🙌

Produces the fastest EVER performance on debut by an Australian female 🏆

Eloise Wellings (Sutherland District Athletics) has produced a fantastic debut Marathon performance on the world stage, finishing in 14th overall, running 2:29:42. She becomes only the 13th Australian woman ever to run sub-2:30 for the Marathon, and incredibly, the fastest Australian female EVER on debut! 🇦🇺

Eloise was also just 12 seconds away from the 2022 Oregon World Championships Marathon Qualifier of 2:29:30 (which she will be aiming for in her next marathon, come early 2022).

A HUGE congratulations to Eloise, and we're hoping to catch up with her soon to get her thoughts on an outstanding first marathon performance in the next few days!
