We’ve been keeping a little secret that’s going to become very obvious once you start seeing pictures of us again. We are BOTH pregnant 🤰 🤰 Ashlynn is expecting her first baby and Denise is expecting her second baby this fall. If we seem a little extra hormonal this season - you know why now! We will be announcing the genders of our babies soon so stay tuned.

When you have grown up in the church culture, it's easy to try to transform people into who YOU are. The phrase "good church kid" has been used for decades to describe an innocent kid that doesn't cause trouble and generally follows the rules. In your experience though, can you honestly say that the way we have treated these kids has encouraged them to pursue a closer relationship with God? Ashlynn and Denise pull from their time of being one of the church kids to reveal some misconceptions that the public, and more specifically the church, have about these young people. Should the motivation for serving God change as a Christian matures in their faith or does is stay constant for all people at all stages of life? This is a question that we have to ask ourselves from time to time when we look and WHY we do what we do. Whether consciously or unconsciously, our motivation greatly impacts the results of our service.

Why is it so hard to leave a place, job, or people? There are so many times in our lives where we are faced with a change that will make us uncomfortable and change the trajectory of our lives. We come up with a million reasons why we can't or won't make a change, but eventually you have to decide to be comfortable or to encounter controversy. Reflection and Purpose. God reveals His truth through the creation He formed with His very words. Take a moment to think about the POWER it takes to orchestrate such a design that even creation points us to the loving omniscient God He is.

Just as the moon reflects the light of sun, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be reflections of Him. Our reflection of Christ should be our purpose for small and large task alike. What is your purpose today? What or who are you reflecting as you live out that purpose? God created you. He has a purpose for you.

Hebrews 12:1-2 Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS the author and finisher of our faith
Romans 8: 28-30 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

Can I get an AMEN?! Whether it be my own weaknesses or failures or the people around me that I struggle to agree with and live peaceably with, things certainly seem impossible.

But, have you ever heard the verse, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Sounds pretty empowering that "with God all things are possible" does it not? HOWEVER, hang on right there for just a second. God's Word practically jumped off the page at me the other day when I read this verse in the context of the conversation Jesus was having when he made this profound statement.

Go check out Matthew 19: 16-30. Jesus speaks this truth in light of salvation. That with people alone, without Jesus, salvation is utterly impossible. No hope for the hopeless, doomed to a life with only a temporary purpose that is defined by our own successes and plagued more heavily by our failures. But there is a ";", and then it tell us with God all things are possible.

Salvation for all people regardless of where they are or what they have done is possible through Jesus. Don't stop praying and sharing with that person God has put in your life! Don't give up on your neighbor, brother, cousin, friend, sister or son because with people, you're right, this is impossible, BUT with GOD all things are possible!
