Hi Friends,
Just here for a quick update. The midseason break was initiated for mental health reasons, but has expanded to include actual broken bones as well. So we will be expending our break from the evidently very dangerous Cinder-Verse until we can safely return.
In the mean time, we hope you enjoy some happily ever afters on our behalf.

Episode 19!! This week we watched the Very First Walt Disney Cinderella, made in 1922. It was absolutely fascinating, both artistically and historically. It was also weirdly cohesive, but don't worry, it gave us enough nightmare fuel and rabbit holes. We're calling this one the Ragtime Cinderella.
Also! We will be taking a mid season hiatus for a bit, as our schedules have become a little more than we can healthily handle, but we will be back with the rest of season three once we've recuperated.

Just over 70% through Season Three and our sanity rations are THIN, y'all. THIN. This week, we watched Cinderella Kulkedisi, a Turkish Cinderella made in 1971. We're calling this the SmashCut Cinderella, but this just as easily could have been the Evil Sorceress Cinderella or the Dance Montage Cinderella or the Who On Earth Is That Again Cinderella.
I hope you enjoy our suffering this week, I really do.

We're calling this one the "Steamboat Willie" Cinderella, because apparently, we can't call it the "Terrytoons returns from the grave to punish us further" Cinderella. But this is our old pal old buddy Paul Terry coming back again somehow and it's ... weird and surreal and rather unpleasant but at least it's short. Prepare yourselves, beloved listeners, for a truly epic Cinderella this week. We watched Tre Nøtter Til Askepott, the remake of the 1973 czech classic Three Wishes for Cinderella. This is truly Game of Thrones esque in it's cinematography, immersive-ness, and intensity. It was truly breathtaking, and we have talked about it nonstop for several weeks, even though we've watched several other cinderellas since then.

This is the Carp Cinderella, and we talked about it to each other for nearly six hours without stopping, and then talked to our partners about it for another handful of days. So this one really stuck with us, y'all, it was a serious game changer.

Hi hi hi, this week we do OPERA y'all. OPERA. And not normal opera, no, this is surreal, gender-bending, quantum, fever dream Opera, and we had such a great time. Join us for Fiona Shaws 2019 production of Massenet's Cendrillon! I think the official title we landed on was the "Surreal Opera" cinderella, but "Midsummer's Nights Dream" Cinderella or "I don't think that character really existed" Cinderella, would have been just as accurate.

A bit of nostalgia here, for episode 2, going back to the 70s this is "Dick and Julie at Covent Garden" the ... English Pantomime Cinderella. Pure comedy gold slapstick. Julie is as always, a delight, although this very short live action movie had some pretty unexpected twists in it.

Season 3 begins!!!!

This first episode is a bit of a chonker, and it's because we wanted to give you guys extra content, it's definitely not because we were so thrown by how much this movie is barely a Cinderella that we talked about it for hours and hours. Definitely not that.

Anyways, we missed you! And we started this season with "The Aladdin Cinderella"! I can hear the confusion, "but ... but it's about Sneakers... How is this not the Sneaker Cinderella???"

Listen to the episode y'all this one is equal parts Aladdin and Hamilton. There's a lot of parody singing in the Ever After Party, so if you're not a patron, you're really missing out.

Hey guys,

It turns out that the amount of nonsense happening in our lives has not gone down since recording the Season 2 Wrap Up, and given that we want this to be a happy wholesome place, we've decided to put this podcast on pause.

We will absolutely be back. There are more than 250 Cinderellas that we want to watch, but we have to stop right now, and unfortunately, we don't have a timeline for when we'll be back.

So no more Cinderella for right now, but we love you all and we want you to take good care of yourselves in our absence.
