LOVE HANDMADE
This is a celebration of all of the superbly talented artisans and makers that are a vital part of the Handmade in Norway network. It’s time to really start showing the world what is going on in Norway. It’s a creative revolution. There is a resolution to not let skills be lost. To learn, practice and preserve the crafts of yesteryear, and perhaps even mix them with modern techniques to create something new.
I find myself in a truly blessed situation of having had this amazing network spring up around me. Yes, I’ve worked hard. But the work I do shadows in comparison to the work that the creatives of Norway have to endure to be seen in today’s society that overspills with glossy images and social media. It’s an impossible task for one person alone. However, we are nearly 3000 creatives. Just watch us as we work together and get noticed!
As Handmade in Norway has grown it has risen up to become the voice of many. I am in a position where I can shout aloud and be proud of what we have created. This magazine is a celebration and a tribute to the dedication of the artisans and makers living here in Norway.
Who am I? I am just one person, a person that started a Facebook group three years ago. I am Kelly Palencia, Founder of Handmade in Norway. A humble person that is grateful for the people that have come into my life these past years.
